*****Top Mount and Longtubes WHAT?!

Work sucks...
Regardless, yah... I've been trying to stay out of trouble but its tempting when I drive around with a Canadian Plate and licence! haha

Trust me, we had a few of our late night runs in "mexico"! haha
The TMIC I have has a better design focused on flow and making sure that all the banks get through the Intercoolers. Efficiency is key to a good intercooler setup.

I agree, Shango's set up is more efficient.

Could you say what Monitoring/Datalogging system is that on the S55? Looks neat! Thx

This was 4 years ago and the last time Shango posted was over 6 months ago. Sure his car is quick, but is it any quicker than a well chilled stock intercooler system? I've still got a little hope left for a 30-40hp increase. (for everyone's cars, mine is just a paper weight at the moment.)
It seems There just isn't a whole lot of room for the coolers on top and room for the intake tubes.
The Long tubes in this thread looked like a fun design, but the welds are a bit... well... like my NPI stuff. I'm glad they used a Vibrant (Fabrication parts manufacturer) Collector. Best bang for the buck if you ask me.
I'm sure the top mounts looked that way because of time constraints. Doesn't mean they perform any worse than pretty ones. Evidenced by the first effort that clearly had time available to make (empty pathway underneath Supercharger) and it looked very much like something I would have made without being rushed. - I thought that piece looked very nice.
SO.. I've seen many attempts and no Hard data on success on these things. Tough to read. This is certainly not from any lack of monumental effort on everyone's part though.
I had high hopes on Vinny's - finny's? SLR adapted cooler. He has yet to finish, and probably wont. I couldn't find MKB on the internet. There were some hideous box pieces that never panned out.
I could spend the time, but I don't see why I would yet. I'm still researching. So many dead ends.
Has anyone looked into Laminova cores? We have used a few of these at our shop for very tight spaces. Here is an example as applied to the Cadillac CTS-V.
Here is a quote from that page.
"The science of the Laminova design is to create huge surface area with minimal air flow restriction. The very thin fins, 0.2 mm each, along each Laminova tube collect the heat from the air passing through the 0.3 mm gaps between the fins. The surface area presented to the air flow is approximately 5 times greater than a conventional plate-style intercooler according to Laminova, as well as reducing noise and pulsation."

It is a very small pic. DID AMG already make this? - EDIT.. Kleeman.

And the pics you show of the laminova ICs are from the earlier, ill-fated STS-V, not the CTS-V. GM learned from their mistakes and went back to a brick IC design on the supercharged CTS-V which came out a few years later.
Intake looks specific to that car though. Maybe there is info on any boost that might have been freed up with these?
Thanks for the reply's.
