Boost blow off problem 2006 S65

Just wanted some input here. I have had a couple occassions that after an extended pull in 3rd gear from 50-110 or so the boost will blow off and the car loses power. There are no check engine lights or other issues that I have seen. My S600 never did this once and I tortured that car. The car continues in a somewhat reduced power mode until the car is turned off and restarted. I see no obvious issues(how much can you really see?). Could this be due to tuning or is it the blow off mechanicsm in the turbos not holding boost or some sort of safety that MB has engineered? TIA

While I have not had your specific problem I do feel my car is "moody" sometimes. It sems very finiky on where I get fuel and certian stations run much better than others. I have checked my intercooler pump numerous times and it flows like crazy. It seems that when I run certian tanks of fuel it is much more lazy in the top of 3rd gear.

Are you datalogging a decrease in boost pressure or is it just by sound or feel?

no datalog but so obvious that it is beyond lazy...feeling like your eyeballs are being sucked back into your skull from acceleration to instant blah and no acceleration. This isn't every time but it has happened three. Datalog is a good idea...I will try it.

It will be interesting to see if it is boost related or knock related. The datalog should help.

I must say with our cooler weather the third gear acceleration is quite impressive!

Just ordered the innovate OTC-2 that uses an ipod touch or Iphone type device for data logging. $179 seems like a good deal. I will post the results once it arrives.

That sounds great, let me know how it works. It will be interesting to see if it is a boost, timing or cooling issue.
