I have 08 R350 and have tried many canbus 36mm LED C5W bulbs for my license plates and all of them gave me error messages even the bulbs are working.
Do you think your bulbs will work and what bulbs should I buy?
Thanks,
Sorry for the late response, just saw this now. So your R class I believe shares the same updated rear SAM as the newer ML/GL which completely changed the canbus function from the rest of the MB (and euro for that matter). The problem is it requires a higher resistance and for a built in bulb to have that bumped up, we run into heat issues. The only way for you to get it to work is with external load resistor tapping. We can offer you a solution to this, but it wouldn't be as simple of a plug and play.

Have halogen reflectors and don't want to blind oncoming traffic with an HID conversion? Good call! We also carry full line of Morimoto Bi-Xenon projector retrofit kits from FX-R stage III and IV to Morimoto Mini Stage III!
You've spoken and we've listened. Due to the large amount of real estate the COB chip took up where space is at a premium, our V5 design had to locate the resistors at the base of the unit which made for harder installation. We've made a swap for new Samsung SMD chip while keeping the core V5 component design which allows us to move the resistor away from the base for trouble free install in our new V5.1 design:

Yes, sorry, we underestimated demand and several distributors bought out our entire supply. We should have a new shipment in a couple weeks. Slightly tweaked also with heat sinks thrown in.
So possibly in the future? Thanks for the response!!
Might be. We know we have customers who want 8000K and we're always going through redesigns taking advantage of new technology and components. If Samsung doesn't offer, we're working on a new design with new CREE XBD chip and CREE has a history of having wider range of components available for us to construct.
Wondering if you have a pair of LED bulbs for the licence plate for a W211 that you've had success with? Every LED that i have tried in there has flickered within a month, and I've tried half-a-dozen, but have not tried yours if my memory serves me correctly. Had the same experience on 4 different MB's that we have in the family so eventually I gave up when i racked up a $100 in LEDs that either didnt work, flickered, gave me a light-out fault or all of the above.
Please let me know your experience with the license plate bulbs. I would really like the subtle, pure white look as seen on the newer MB cars.

Thanks in advance!
Our rear plate festoons are very reliable and features flicker protection with constant current IC drives built in as well as some other proprietary safety components. These aren't just your typical units with LEDs and resistors slapped on with no real thought. We're always improving our designs as technology moves forward so annual refreshes are common with our products.

Some of you know this, but for those who haven't checked, we've released a new V5.2a model that uses the latest CREE XBD chipset. Wrapped in a heat shielding shell with gel coat, these might look small, but pack a well balanced brightness while burning cooler than previous designs. Check them out!
