what are your thoughts on the E55 AMG
I need a few help with making my decision on which E55 to buy. I came across a 2003 E55 with 132k miles for $16k and 2005 E55 with 136k miles for $17k, there both in great conditions but with that many miles are those a good deal or a waste of money.

Miles are way high. If you can justify knowing you will have to put money in it I would say go for It if you can handle the repairs. Iam nothing but pleases with my 03. Its a pure pleasure. But If it were me I would spend the extra money and get one with under 70k

The easy part of E55 ownership is buying one. Spend more, get a newer, fewer miles, car that qualifies for an extended CPO warranty or aftermarket service contract.

An E55 with that much mileage, after a short while, will end up costing you the same as one with less mileage because you will need to take care of stuff that was possibly neglected and can go wrong at that mileage. (Suspension stuff, alternator, motor mounts, sensors, etc - who knows what the last owner did)

I wouldn't want to own one of these cars 1) with high mileage and 2) without a good warranty. I had a Chrysler warranty (no longer available) on my 2006 E55 and had $8k in repairs in one year. I recently traded my 06 for a 05 with 2500 miles and got it CPO'd. Good luck finding your car.

The car had 60k miles when I bought it - from memory..
Ball joints replaced
Driver seat frame replaced
A/C compressor
A/C blower (motor)
Motor mounts replaced
Main Bearing Seal Leak
Turn signal switch
Valve Cover (gasket or seals)?
Trunk Lid Motor replaced
I'm sure I'm missing a few things.
