My Silver E55 with black badges/grill
After having little to no luck finding this stuff for sale I opted to paint the badges, stars and grill on my E55 myself. I must say I didn't expect it turn out as well as it did - and after roughly a month of driving there's no chips or peeling at all.

Thanks, I followed the instructions in this thread
I was having problems with the clear finish on the front grill - I couldn't seem to get it to go on without a really bad orange peel appearance and ended up sanding it down and just leaving the clear off. So far it's been great.

Did you paint the fender and trunk emblems on the car or did you take off, paint, and then re-install on the car?
Seems like it would be a pain to mask off and paint on the car?

Looks great. I just bought 3M automotive double stick tape to do this myself. My buddy did it with regular double stick you get at Home Depot, and it pushed the badges too far off the car, didn't look OEM. So the tape I bought was very thin to get the badges closer to the car. The only thing that's holding me up now is the cold temps. I'm worried about re-badging the car in the winter months.

Looks really nice!
That is what I would like to do with my badges for the contrast on the silver. Probably that and the trunk lid are the only things I'll do as far as the exterior.
