A sad day indeed...need some help pricing my 2006 E55
Unfortunately my life has been self-destructing lately. I don't want to bore you guys with the sad details, but let's just say I do not advise working with your wife - EVER.

So I need help figuring the best way to sell her. I am reluctant to sell as-is to a private party, simply because you never get what you want. Even if I find an enthusiast that appreciates all the mods and time I have into her, I believe I will still get low-balled. We all know you never get the mod money back when you sell, so why try?
My initial thought was to take the few mods off I can easily remove and just trade her in on something more affordable. While I expect and understand that I am going to lose a lot of money, no matter what I do, I would like to minimize that as much as possible.
Any suggestions?
Anybody have recent auction pricing on a 06 with 54K miles (keyless, nav, dynamic seats, hid's, trunk closer, ECT)?
Just trying to gather a little info to be better prepared for when I walk into a dealer,
Any input would be greatly appreciated...THANKS!
If it serves of any help I was at a Boston,Ma dealer auction and a 06' black E55 with about 40-50k went for 28K
Doesn't make much sense to remove the headers or the lsd. And unfortunately I can't sell the tune..lol.
Might also consider selling all the newly painted engine parts, but of course I would need cores.
That said, if you decide to get rid of the car, someone is getting a beauty. I wish you the best.

Thanks guys, but now I am even more confused about what a fair trade in price would be...lol.
Seriously though, this has been really difficult...and yes the car is meaningless in the big picture. My wife and I have been building our marriage and our business (restaurant) together for nearly six years. It has been extremely hard to walk away from that. I put my heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears into both, thinking that we were building a partnership. Sad to find out that simply was not true.
In the end, this will be for the best. In the meantime, it is really going to suck...and driving a Toyota Solara (or the like) will be the least of my problems.
I will post up a for sale thread fpr the parts once I have a more clear timeline!

AMG only lane, tons of e63s going for low to mid 40s- CL63 hit 70k I believe
Would be a few extra K at least, but there is the shop charges to remove and then dealing with the sale of stuff (sounds like you don't have a lot of time for this kinda stuff)
I can tell ya one thing brotha, stay plugged into us over here. You are ALWAYS family here no matter what car you drive. When I went through the worst times of my life back in 2005 (nearly lost wife due to health), these knuckleheads were about the only thing that kept me sane.
You hang tough and know that "this too will pass".
Jim
I have a couple of cars I'm thinking of selling including my E63 (I have another car on order now.) But the market is not good.
My suggestion would be to:
1) sell retail since the dealers are in the same economic picture, and right now aren't paying anything
2) or just garage it and wait until spring (this is the worst time of year to sell)
I've had two brokers interested in one of my cars (more of a collectible) and neither of them followed through. They're still hurting in this economy and don't have the cash like they used to. I gave up on them; a waste of my time.
Good luck, but don't rush it. Somebody will come along and pay a decent price. Buyers are out there, it just takes more time these days to find them.
I am sure with your positive outlook and your great sense of humor you will get through these tough times no problema. Just hang tough brotha, and if you need help with anything, let me know.
