A sad day indeed...need some help pricing my 2006 E55
My dealer said he'd buy my car at lowest auction pricing and give me an excellent competitive deal on the new car, or give me a great trade-in price and an average deal on the new car. He said the choice was up to me.
The only value that your trade-in is really worth to them is the transaction from the new car sale, and while being sure to not go less than the current auction prices. No dealer can afford to get stuck with a car they can't unload immediately at auction. All the dealers cover their butts and esp in this economy.
p.s., if you have the time, you could try a broker. Pick your selling price and then negotiate the commission percentage. A broker will find a buyer for you at your price, and you won't have to unload it for trade-in (auction) prices. You won't have to deal with all the phone calls and the tire-kickers.
I have no plans on leaving the forum, i love it hear! can't wait to see what you guys do with the new TT
Besides, I am an AMG man, through and through! Thanks for the selling advise as well. Really I am just trying to lower my expenses. It is not so much the monthly payment as it is the higher maintenance costs and insurance associated with owning an 11 sec daily driver.
Maybe I will snap some pics and throw it up for sale and see if anyone bites. Not looking to make any money, just limit the losses. I will be damned if I will trade it in for less than $25k....I'd rather keep it and not drive it.
GLWS!
I'm sorry to hear of the troubles brother. Let me know if you want to part those gorgeous engine bits out. I'll take them for sure and help you recoup some of the loss
Best of luck with the coming months. Please stick around the parts, I always enjoy what you and the east coast boys bring to the community

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I don't think you would have too much trouble selling your car in Nova if you price it fairly. I was toying with selling mine recently. I have a Chrysler MaxCare warranty good until 2014/105k miles and low 40k's mileage and I was hoping for $31k-32k. Stock cars sell better unless you can find an enthusiast who knows about your mods. Good luck!
