What is big, comfortable and will pull more than my 'E63?
I love, love, love my '08 E63. Most comfortable rocketship I've ever driven.
I've been hearing good things about the CL63 and CL65.
My question is simple:
Is there another comfortable "everyday driver" (2 or 4 door) that will give me significantly better performance and "seat of the pants" acceleration than my E63? I can up my price range a bit (CL65 maybe, Brabus NO!) The beautiful Cadillac CTS-V is an obvious answer, but I understand performance is only slightly higher than the E63.
From what I understand my W211 will do 0-60 in around 4.3, 1/4 mile in high 12s, top speed of almost 200 and the all important 60-130 in a little under 11.
If I had the clams, could I get another car that was nearly as comfortable and luxurious as the E63 but significantly faster? What I really, really want is a car that will have so much "punch" when I stomp the accelerator on the freeway that even at 60 mph my head is whipped back and my body is pinned to the seat. High torque, high G force acceleration is what I want.
Suggestions?

If you're looking for a cheaper solution, you could always go back to an E55 and mod the crap out of it..... that should get you that "punch" you're looking for (even at 60 mph)

Hey y'all, thanks for the replies!
As it happens, I test drove an S65 at the same time I test drove my E63 - funny thing is, the E63 "felt" faster to me. My guess is that it had to do with the weight difference in the cars. I am looking forward to trying the new CL though.
I was just a little bummed last night because I got edged out (barely) by a dodge viper on a good stretch of wide clear road with no traffic anywhere.
I know its childish for a guy my age, but I really HATE being the SECOND fastest car out on the road.
That, and I've become an acceleration junkie. When I stomp the pedal I want to feel my head snap back and my butt hit the lumbar support like it was whacked with a sledgehammer. In regard to the S65, I think it may be hard to get that feeling in a 5000 lb car. In regard to my E63, I think it may be hard to get that feeling in a normally aspirated engine.
I really probably should have picked up an E55 when the bug originally bit me, but I'm not a guy that tends to want to put mods on a car. (I'm lucky enough to be able to afford a luxury car now, but NOT able to afford a voided warranty!)

A couple of other options would be a Porsche Panamera or Supercharged Jag.
I've never thought the E63 was that fast but all my friends do.
Be careful racing a Viper on the open road.....

ZR1 - has the power of all cars mentioned and rides nicely. Either that or mod the CTS-V and have a ZR1 with a back seat. Might end up with a rattle or two down the road.

I think I'm going to test drive a Panamera though. I love the build quality and history of Porsche, obviously. The Panamera turbo with the sport chrono option seems like it might fit my bill nicely. The trick with these cars is always to figure out how to explain to the salesman that you want to put it through its paces a bit on the test drive.

a CTS-V with bolt on's is hard to beat. I think you can send them directly to lingefelter from the factory and retain your warranty if the work is done by them. Might want to check that out on their website. Other than that an S65 or a modded e55 is your only other options. Of course all have their positives and negatives.

Porsche Panamera Turbo with the sport chrono package. 0-60 in 3.8s
This thing has more room inside than the E and is faster due to 4 wheel traction.

The ZR1 has a lot of appeal, but I'm a big guy and getting in and out doesn't appeal to me. Whatever I get would be my everyday driver. I have thought very seriously about getting a CTS-V. They are big and comfortable, and the back seat comes in handy for hauling my kids around. I know the CTS-V is a bit faster than the E63 out of the box, but I live in Houston which is just down the road a bit from Hennessey. I've read mixed reviews about their work, but a lot of people are happy with Hennessey mods. I think the upgrade to 650 rwh was priced pretty reasonably if I remember correctly.

Have you considered a modded CLS55? This picture alone is enough to make me want one.

RE: Next Thing
I owned an 09 CTSV, a lot of car for the money, but the quality was subpar. Sold it after 11 months due to a littany of quality issues....won't buy anything GM again anytime soon. You won't be happy with one after owning a Benz.
I love my E63, it is plenty fast and very reliable, but when I want to go faster, my SL600 with Stage 1 tune can dust pretty much anything I've come across. You might want to put the R230 SL600, or 65 onto your list.

Get a tune, if you lost by a couple car lengths a tune will help with that issue and if was 3 lengths get a tune and a renntech box. Mr Viper if stock will be much much closer.
In the end somebody will always be faster. 03/04 Cobra with a Whipple is one of them . Just have to be happy with what you have

+3 on the Panamera Turbo. The car drives really, really well and the steering is very precise. You feel like you're driving a 997.2TT. Very nimble and quick, and tunable, too. With PDK and Sports Chrono, it's a win. While the exterior might be debatable (just like the W212 E63 and the new CLS), the interior is superb. Plus there's more usable space than in an E63.
You also might want to see what the new F10 M5 will be like, too. Should be here later next year.

I know, but the OP said "What is big, comfortable and will pull more than my 'E63?" And the Porche does. It is quicker and more comfortable (at least more room in the rear). If he added "looks as good or better", I would have to go with a CL65.

I'd go with an S65 or CL65 which you can get for in the $40k's now. Upgrade the pump, HE and tune and you're pushing almost 900 lt/ft of torque and 750HP all for around $3k in tuning/installation.
You have a goregous daily driver and a very comfortable car. It is heavy but to a 0-160MPH run when the torque kits in you should be almost unbeatable.
This is my next car, probablly the S65 and I have 3 kids.
