Tracked the car tonight, finally in the 11's

When I first got the car earlier this year, I was able to get 5 runs in last February and could only pull off a 12 flat.

I wanted to take this car to the limit and see what I could do with it before I installed any major mods like pulley, headers, etc.

Just got back,

Got in three runs since the track was shut down half the night like usual.

1st 12.34 @ 119.13 2.28 tires were too cold and only a month old.
2nd 11.86 @ 119.50 1.81
3rd 11.77 @ 118.85 1.73

So here is my question:

Did I reach the limit of a stock car with exhaust or can I pull a higher trap and ET still? I know I can pull a better 60ft but do you think I can trap higher as well?

I see some people claiming 120, but I really think I might of killed it tonight and not to expect much more.

Once I know I hit that limit, I would like to install my pulley I have in the garage.

I have been itching to install it since I picked it up 6 months ago. Didn't care to install it going into the summer in FL though.

But after tonight and now that the weather is getting nice, I'm dying for some benedryl right now.

Love this car

Appreciate your comments and letting me know if I should be content and upgrade or keep pushing the stock pulley and see how fast she'll go.

I can say this, my shifts suck, slow as sh#t, if I could fix that, and a quicker 60 ft, i think I could beat both ET and MPH still.....

Ill post the timeslips shortly.

Wow, you hit 11.77 @ 118.5 on stock tires???? You are very close to Enzom's record run: 11.775 @ 118.69 although he was running the stock exhaust setup. Great runs man

You should go back to stock exhaust and capture the record for the quickest/fastest stock E55 yet

Those are awesome stock figures. Some mod'd cars don't hit that. What were the track conditions? DR?

I have stock exhaust, just no cats or resonator.

Trying to get the slips up today.

I believe it was a 11.773 ET on the slip, but Enzom got me on the MPH.

I corrected the times and it shows as a 11.751 ET and 119.148 MPH.
Not sure if corrected times are better or not.
Ill post the weather info and DA as well.

Get that bearing on there and lets go out to Funday Sunday this weekend.

I guess I have to keep going on the stock pulley until I beat Enzoms since I am so close.

Is Enzoms slips posted anywhere like drag times? Were his corrected or actual times?

You can't compare his runs vs Enzom's no more than you can compare my runs vs Enzom. We all have three different setups with Big E being the closest to being stock.

Enzom -All stock except for 275/35/18 PS2's and ran 11.775@118.69, 1.71-60'

My car - All stock except for 275/40/17 drag radials & no filters 11.701@121.82, 1.71-60'

JIntegra - All stock except the heat exchanger and he does not have any cats (no primary cats = more hp) or resonator and he is on 285/30/18's. and ran 11.772@118.8, 1.73-60'

With that being said it doesn't take away from your runs for what little mods that you have.

I know that.... that's why I told him he should go back to stock if he wants to go for the record

By the way, your car also had non-stock 19" rims. Despite similarity in weight/specs to stock, it would still not be considered stock rims or as close to stock as Enzom's But again, even Enzom's 100% stock runs on stock 265 tires were 11.8 @ 118.x mph. Also note that the wider tires are heavier and so more difficult to accelerate. He is very close to the record and I think there is a possibility to at least match it

jkintegra, I think you have a very good chance to match or break the stock record if you go back to 100% stock exhaust and tires

i have stock exhaust and stock tires, and as soon as the DA is anywhere near as it was last night, i'll go run a nice 11 sec pass and will post it up

are you talking about my 19's? if so where or when did I mention that? not only would he have to change the exhaust back but he would also have to change the heat exchanger back to stock as well.

Although I think the heat exchanger matters less and less in ice cold weather, you are absolutely 100% correct; he has to be completely stock if he is going for the record. Any change would put him in a category of his own

Regarding the rims, I'm not sure what you mean? Your closest to stock runs were not on stock rims, correct? That would automatically put your runs out of the stock realm but still stock powered

Great times, jkintegra.

As for the other banter... maybe the differentiator should be "showroom stock" vs. "stock-powered."

I'd call Enzom's record "showroom stock" - since the only difference is a minor (and, frankly, still OEM-equivalent-model) set of street tires. I'd call Hammer's record "stock-powered" (which I think he already does), since he openly admits switching to a smaller, DR'd rear wheel and removing his intake filters, so it's definitely not a "stock-car" record, but "stock-powered-car" if that makes sense.

I think their point was, you don't have "stock exhaust" if you've removed any of the cats. You also don't have "stock tires" if you have Sumi's on the car, as they're not OEM for AMGs.

IMHO, it would be way too much work/expense (and a step backwards) to try and put your car back to fully stock and go for any sort of "showroom stock" 55 record. Instead, you should get a light, grippy set of DRs and try for the "stock-powered" record... 11.700 is only a whisker away.
