Factory AMG LSD for W211/W219
Selling a used CLK 63 Black Series differential with factory Salisbury type LSD. The complete rear has roughly 800 miles on it (removed from a bank-repo car). This will fit any AMG W211, W219, or R230 chassis. but won't fit a standard W209 chassis. The diff. ratio is 3.06, so we are including EGS programming for the ratio change- price is $2500.00 plus shipping. This is a $5000.00 differential were you to buy it new from the MB dealer. EGS programming would cost another $950.00. Lemme know if anyone is interested. Shoot me an email if you have any questions- cory@kleemannusa.com

I suppose that depends on how you look at it. The Quaife is indeed a great product (I've installed many of them), and at a great price. The factory Salisbury LSD is also a fantastic unit, although it's not as aggressive as the quaife. The major advantage with this diff is the ratio change, and the included EGS programming to accommodate it. The other advantage is this is a ready to install diff- drop your old one, bolt this one up, fill it with oil and you're done. The entire job can be done in as little as 2 hours by someone who's done it before. The Quaife requires the carrier assembly to be removed, and the side bearings removed from the OE carrier, and pressed onto the Quaife carrier (as well as the ring gear), and then you'll need to check both gear contact pattern and backlash to ensure it's within spec. (which it is 90% of the time). In terms of total out of pocket $ with labor, etc., you'll find doing a quaife is marginally less expensive than just bolting this one in, plus you have the advantage of a 3.06 final drive if that's an upgrade you're looking for. This diff. will make sense for some, and for others, it won't. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Nah Cor, think the E63 has the 2.82s. I have an E63 rear in my car and she was 2.82.
Never thought of that. Wonder what the 63's would do with 3.06's in there.
Interesting.
Can you reprogram the 7 speed EGS Cor?

7G EGS controllers are not easily programmed since they're integrated into the valve body. I'm fairly sure our programmers can do it, but our USA HQ lacks the correct flashing tool to do it, so it would need to be removed, and sent to Denmark directly for programming, which makes for long down times, not to mention labor to R&R. This is best left for 55K cars with EGS52.
A 3.06 is a "shorter" ratio which means you'll have a higher degree of torque multiplication meaning the car will accelerate faster. The major down side will be wheelspin at launch, as Jim can probably attest even with his 2.82- a 3.06 is going to be even more difficult to launch. The car is going to feel significantly more aggressive on the launch and under acceleration, but you sacrifice top speed as well as fuel economy and cruising RPM will be higher in any given gear. Like Jim said, 1/4 mile times may suffer, as the car will want to shift into 4th before the end of the 1/4 which will hurt ET's and trap speed. This would be a great upgrade for a mildly upgraded car- stock, K1, K2, etc.

Out Of Control!!
Thinkin about it. The car already has a TCU tune for the valve body mods. Not sure how this would effect it and if it would help or hurt 1/4 times in my case. It will have quicker accel but since I've never run this E55 at the track yet I don't know how close it is to shift points crossing the line. I will know soon though
