Tuner | HP and TRQ Dyno Numbers?

I see a lot of people asking: Who tuned your car, what did it put down on the dyno (Before After). I don’t want to start a vendor camp war. My intent is simply to provide new members with an overview of options and what the gains look like. I am intentionally leaving off pricing, as that will be for the member to solicit if / when they would like to reach out to one of these wonderful vendors. Write ins are of course welcome, but I hope I got all the players!

Also, everyone should undertsand that dyno numbers are simply for "Before / After" comparision, and should not be compared between members. That happens way too often, and means nothing. There are 11.99 second cars that dyno 570, and 10.99 cars that dyno 460.. This is just to show individual gains.

Stock 471rwt 403whp

Last dyno 561 470 and just tweaked my last tune from kleemann this past monday.I tried to hit the dyno yesterday but I stored the car for winter today.I say 585 500 when it hits the dyno this spring.

Took out some fuel and went a little more agressive for the final tune(I hope)

One point to consider: it may not be totally encompassing when comparing tunes from different companies if the mods are different. For example, RENNtech will not produce a 180 mm pulley. They stick to 168 mm pulley (at least 95% of the time), and for those customers who bug them enough, they have made a limited production number of a 172 mm pulley. So no matter which car they tune, it will produce less boost and less power than a healthy car with a 180 mm or a 190 mm pulley. I think Kleemann have chosen the same route as well. Also, I believe DynoComp used to use RENNtech until just a few weeks ago. Finally, you may want to add some of the European tuners into the mix to see where they stand: Brabus, MKB, VATH, etc...

Thanks Mo.. you are right. I missed the Europen tuners. I hope there are some write in's, since I don't think I can add options to the poll.

This thread would have helped save me many hours of searching, because I was interested in seeing actual numbers from a before / after comparitive standpoint (vs. how high did they get) Some good info here guys!!

In terms of options, I agree- Different companies have different pulley sizes, and from an overall gain perspective will look different. Based on the direction a lot of people seem to be going, bigger is not always better, at least to a point.

Unless you run all the cars in this pole on the same dyne on the same day the numbers don't mean a thing. Even the same dyne will produce different numbers on different days

Which is why I said in the original post:

Don't forget about 60fts if those 570whp cars nailed a 1.5 60 they would be in the 10s.I get bog and reaction control kicking in at my track and if I hit a 1.525 60 ft it would of ran a 11.0 give or take a few 10ths and alot of low et cars are running skinny fronts and light weight rears ext.

I also think these high 500+ cars were not dynod right and are inflated numbers

As we all know, 60' times are crucial to running great times. It's always easy to say "if I cut a 1.5 60' time I would be in the 10's", unfortunately it isn't that easy.

So far every single E55 in the 10's has done it with no skinnies. My best pass with my front HRE's is 10.87 and most recently Loco55's pass was a 10.84. All of our cars are just getting faster and faster with more people getting closer. Unfortunately our cars are pretty close to maxed out and we probably won't see much better times without spray.

I think it's time to move into a C63..... These cars are phenomenal and I would really love to start modding one.

1) mine was 420rwhp with local tune + 168mm Pulley + shorties + deleted cats + 80mm TB ans cooling package.

2) after changing to 181mm pulley and larger SC inlet and jeremy (OE Tuning) tuned it to 516rwhp & 643rwtq (stock ZO6 on the same dyno shows 400rwhp)

i installed EC LT but didnt dyno it after.

but what i like most is gear response now and in M mode it doesnt up shift @ the redline.

You need to add SPEEDRIVEN tuning to the list

Though from the list provided Jeremy/OE Tuning gets my vote.. I agree the Dyno #s from a multitude of different states/country's/weather/altitudes/temps & actual Dyno machines used mean squat I've seen it all..

(They can change parameters/settings from car to car in between dyno runs in seconds, especially on Load bearing dynos DD/MD if incorrect vehicle weight including driver is off? or strapped to tightly? it can skew final #'s greatly either higher or lower, they also need correct gear ratio information, correct tire pressure & actual gear used needs to be 1:1 etc..)

I can not add to the poll when I edit, but for readers, SPEEDRIVEN is highly regarded in the V12/Twin Turbo arena, and must talk to if you have this platform and want F A S T

Concur and even on the same day dynos will yield different results. Ill take the lower hp/tq car on paper and faster on the street all day everyday.

I thought Dyno-comp (until recently, anyway) just re-sold RENNtech tunes? Also, you should add Speedriven and probably Evotech to the list.
