Looks like it will be 04 models with nav. Since the 03 cars are being built now and the 04's begin after July 2003.
However, the change will come in a particular "quarter'. So only time will time which 2004 models will have it. It may start in 1st quarter built cars or 2nd quarter. No one knows for sure.

The DVD based COMAND system is already available in Germany.
It works great and it is highly recommendable. It even plays DVD movies, at least on german COMAND systems.
The MultiMedia package is already available over here, two TFT screens are installed in the rear and can be used to watch a DVD movie or a TV program (if the TV option is installed) for the rear passengers. Best part: you can use the navigation AND rear passengers can watch a movie at the same time as far as I heard. The COMAND uses a DVD unit in the trunk and one directly in the unit itself. So there is no need to take out the Nav DVD to be able to watch a movie. Also interesting: the COMAND instructions brochure is available on DVD too. A kind of multimedia instruction booklet, very nice.
Regarding changes for the MY 2004, I have only a few rumors for you. AGAIN: rumors from different sources, so please take them with a grain of salt.
1. 7-speed auto tranny
2. same power as on the SL 55 due to some mods to the supercharger and ECU software
3. overworked SBC system
4. overworked Airmatic DC 2 system
5. some other minor improvements
