This was maintenance per the maintenance manual. That is it.
I think I was totoally overcharged in the quote, but MD Fletcher Jones in Fremont did some CEL check gratis. That was cool. Mo and David are good guys.

Makes me happy to see the few high mileage guys chime in...but I was hoping to see more. I feel like I'm "low" at 45k on an '06.... But then I saw quite a few lower. More than i thought i would see actually. I remember having friends who would get hand-me-down benzs from their folks with 250k+ miles them. I kind of wonder if we'll be able to get that out of our cars (un-modded of course) and well maintained. The last car that I've owned for more than 50k miles was a volvo s70 t-5 m (heavily modified by iPd up in Portland). Loved that car...total sleeper sedan and pretty much bulletproof. Or so I thought. When I put it up for sale at 96k...no known issues to me...the guy that drove down from Va Beach (in his 304gtb funny enough)...discovered a rear main seal leak.
I've already had a rear main seal blow on my E55 >45k miles unmodded. Motor mounts/tranny mounts...just done too...
It's funny because the car *feels* bulletproof...but I wonder a little. So grateful for the extended warranty.

I agree but I do not drive to work as I work downtown and live downtown. In the summers I have a lot fo transportation options, so putting miles on the car is tough
1. I ride my bicycle a lot I have a Tarmac Pro SRAM Red (Love it ALOT!) and I ride it almost every day to work in the summers unless its raining
2. I also have a Harley i like to take out
3. The E63 is the third choice, but when I drive it the revs dont stay under 3k for long

E55, Supercharged Z4 (sold)
'04 with 74,500 miles. 25,000 of those miles are mine and I haven't been easy on it. Most of those miles have been driving this car around town 30-40 miles every single day. Start, stop, idling a good bit, a lot of turning it on/off for short frequent trips. Think delivery vehicle type service.
Intially I had to replace some stuff but since then I've only had to replace the ball joints and I had a leaky fuel pump/gas smell. Fixed by a recall. The car just motors on.
I see no reason why this car can't make it to 150,000+ miles, especially if I take care of it. That said I'm looking into a warranty as I type this. I've been getting quotes for 3 years/36,000 more miles for just under $5,000. I'm thinking it would be nice to control the cost of my repairs over the next 36,000 miles. Just a smart move for my money. I do however think that there is a strange mystique that these cars will fall apart at 100,000 miles. It just seems silly. Sure it will not be cheap but they are very well built.

My CPO warranty on my '04 runs out in May of 2011. I had a 1yr ext which expired in May of 2009 then I extended it for 2 more years. Not sure if I can extend it again but am going to check. If not, does anyone know of any good warranty company for our cars. I dont anticipate having 50k on the car before May.

06' e55 49k miles, i have heard that shaking in the steering wheel can be a good sign of motor/tranny mounts going bad. also have heard that about every 40k they should be replaced. don't quote me because im not sure.

Mileage
182000 kms thats about 117000 miles and still going strong.
I swing between E55 and an old Landcruiser as a DD. Cruiser is a great foil for the E55, makes you appreciate what a great car it really is, even with all its quirks.
So far, touch wood only a CPS and front strut replace.(Arnotts)A lot of our city roads have become rough after the Sept earthquake (7.1) so the old cruiser gets a lot more use lately.
