E55 AMG Arrival!

I made a post in another thread, but wanted to make it official. We just recieved our first W211 E55 AMG. The car is spoken for by a very good client, but it is Black/Charcoal with Panorama roof, Solar Panel, Bi-Xenon's and CD changer.

The MSRP on this car is $82,395!! The base price is $76,000 and Gaz Guzzler of $1,700. I am just a little disappointed that you have to pay for the Bi-Xenon's. I remember on the W210 that everything was standard, at least they give you the multicontour seats in the price!!

I agree, I ordered mine with the Bi-Xenon's as well, its funny how such a pricey car doesn't come with it standard when others do, hell you would think all Mercedes would come with them but unfortunately they dont.

What were your thoughts on the S-Type R? How come you sold it?

The car was pretty fun but didn't like to much that it looked like a Sable inside, the electronics looked cheap, however it was pretty decent fast, I ran 13.4@105 stock.

Just sat in one

Just sat in an E55. It will be delivered to the lucky owner tomorrow. It had the blue interior. The blue is much darker than the pictures on the internet. Almost couldn't tell it was blue. Looked nice, but I will go with charcoal/charcoal.

The seats were very fitting to the body. They started the engine inside the showroom to show off.... sounded nice.

The only complaint I have so far is the cup holder. Can't MB put 2 decent cup holders for the driver and passenger?

I can't wait for my 04.

Warning - no more posting "I saw E55" or "I sat in E55" without pics to drool over.

The rear sunshade was standard on W210 E55 also. It is optional now I believe.

Just saw one at my local dealer, arrived today. Silver/Black E55 with the cd changer as the only option, NO XENONS!! Sticker came in at little over $79,000. It was parked between other cars so it was difficult to view it from all angles, but it looked great from what I could see(especially the front).

Yes, it just arrived today. It was the first one I have seen there. One of the salesman there told me that they would have 3 arriving in June/July. 2 of them were already accounted for and the other one would be sold for the highest price it could get on the market.

Yeah, they called me this morning about it -- said it just arrived. They tried to sell the spot last March for 10 over saying it could be optioned anyway you wanted. I passed because I wasn't willing to pay that kind of premium for delivery three months earlier. I guess they had no takers. I'm excited to go look at it and I imagine someone will pay the premium they want.

I will not pay a premium either. I am guessing that there will be plenty of spots available in the next few months at MSRP. A few years back, all AMG models were pretty much accounted for, now in a few months time you get to spec one out the way you want it at MSRP.

Take care and enjoy your E55 when it arrives.

I would not shop at Autohaus On Edens, their personnel is very unstable(changes constantly)and they like to play games with you especially regarding the trade-in.Their used car Mgr is notorious for really nasty surprises.
I'm picking up my E55 end of May from Knauz, honest people ,straightforward talk and deals.

I just got back from Autohaus. I sat in it and was able to turn the engine on and listen to the rumble. The suede headliner was pretty amazing too. Those guys want 10k over a 79k sticker. For a car with only the CD changer and the electronic trunk closer, that's just crazy. I feel bad for the poor shmuck who gives into these pirates. What kind of person buys an electronic trunk closer and doesn't even get Xenon lights? My '03 E55 (Black/Charcoal with all the goodies) will be here in a week or two and I'm only paying sticker.

Absent, thank for the heads up about Autohaus. I had a contact at Autohaus but he left for another dealer on the east coast. Before he left he told me to watch out when dealing with some of the staff there. I agree with you about Knauz, good people there. I was on the verge of buying a new 2002 E55 last summer from them, they really worked on the price for me to move the car. I had it down to $62,000 with out any problems or hassels from them, probably could have purchased for $60,000. I passed and am still deciding on what car to get, probably the new E55.

Saw the E55 at Autohaus last night. No pictures -- sorry E55 KEV, I violated the rule. Looked and sounded great but not 10 over list great. Bones, I agree that there will be spots at MSRP shortly; assuming I can live without Nav you are welcome to my #6 spot at Mark Motors. In any event, I'd be amazed if they got 10 over for that car, with those options, but more power to them if they do.

Speaking of over list, someone forwarded me the following e-mail from a dealer in Springfield, IL:

Hello,

upgradable to 540HP and 564 lb.-ft. torque)

Brilliant Silver/Charcoal Nappa Leather
Burl Walnut
Parktronic
Active Ventilated Seats
Panorama Roof
Solar Panel
Tire-Pressure Monitoring
Rear Sunshade

Electronic Trunk Closer
V60 Phone
Bi-Xenon Headlamps
Drive-Dynamic Seats

MSRP $86,670.00
Price $107,000.00

Any takers?

reb13- First of all thank you very much for the tentative offer on the spot, I might just take you up on that. I have a contact at Mark Motors, good guy who I would feel confident doing business with. I would feel very confident with that dealer, they deal in MSRP.

The Springfield dealer is probably Isringhausen. They are a Renntech authorized dealer who modify AMG cars. I remember last year they had a modified renntech supercharched W210 E55, 476hp selling for $110,000!!!

Isringhausen will gouge you when they can, I got my first AMG from them and still have a september delivery order up there on an 04E55, but I will not do business with they anymore.

I was inches from buying my current AMG from Isringhausen since they are aggressive about brokering. My sense is they're just like any aggressive regional/national type dealer--if there's demand, they'll try to eat you alive. If you are after something in their stock which is not too hot, they'll bend to get the deal done.
