Evo VIII/E55 AMG
I did 1.65 60' with the following combo
16" E320 wheels, small 5mm spacers to clear brake
255/50/16 Mickey Drag radials
I then sold my drag combo to Luis (Loco 55 and he's gotten great times with this setup and painted tehm black). E320 wheels are cheap and readily available on Ebay and Craigslist. Another option is to use the 16" CLK steely.

is a 255 on an 8in wide wheel the best combo? Or should I go wider making 600WTQ??

Out Of Control!!
Didn't juicee say he ran a 1.47 or something 60' in his CLS?
I can't wait to get the E55 to the track and launch the **** out of it. Hopefully the driveline isn't as weak as the clk!

What tires are on the 16s you have for grabs.255/50/16? do you happen to know what the overall inches are?
Im trying to find the best tires for everyone of us to use.So far I think its going to be the bf drag radial if you have the stock 18s.
They make that tire in a
275/35/18 and is 25.6 in tall
the nittos make a few but dont have a 275/35/18,your best bet with them is a nt555r2 on a 285/35/18 that is 25.91 or there street nto5 in a 275/35/18 that is 25.63
I dont know why they dont make the nto5r in a 275/35/18,that would be the perfect drag tire for a stock wheel.Im going to email them asking if its something they might do.
My 265/40/18 mt are like 26.6 in tall

On 18s a low to mid 1.6xs is attainable but man you gotta be a hell of a driver to obtain that IMO.
Never measured how tall but clears for sure.
Do your research and let me know..i have family in North Attleboro,MA who i'll visit around spring, summer time so we can meet around the area.

I'm much more of a track guy than a quarter mile guy but it is mightily impressive to see the times you guys are putting down in these luxury sedans. Keep it up.

I've got a 67 cutlass that I drag race and it 60's in the mid 1.2's (best of 1.242) There are a few things that I found that make a huge difference.
1. A quality high converter. Ideally you want the true stall to be a few hundred RPM below the torque peak, this will allow the converter to flash a bit higher and you will be leaving at peak torque. When I was experimenting with converters (and the car was in the low 11 second range) going from a 10" generic converter to an 8" ATI dropped my 60' from 1.62' to 1.42'
2. Put a numerically higher gear in the car, you don't have to go crazy but even a 3.06 would help.
3. The best tire I found were actually Hoosier drag radials. If there is any way possible to get a strut on these cars that will help promo
4. Light wheels, DO NOT put steel wheels on the car. 60' times are all about getting things moving. A steel wheel is HEAVY and is much harder to get moving. If you are serious about it get the smallest diameter aluminum race wheel you can fit on the car, Heck call Bogart or Holeshot and give them the specs, the can make them.
4. When all else fails a shot of Nitrous

What I need is a light weight wheel and a very stickey 265/35/18,im using the shorter tire to play with gearing to get higher in the rpms in 3rd gear.

Everything he said...
I am working on the gearing, and after that I will be doing either a protorque Billet Stator with a 2800 or a paramount performance dominator.
Already have number 3, and 4 taken care of....

A higher stall and a Quaife diff should get you the times you want. With my 6000 pounds 2003 Silverado SS, I gained about .3 sec in the 60ft going from a 2500rpm stall to a 3000 rpm stall. I would idle at 1500rpm to load it up and punch it to the floor at the last yellow. That truck had awd and locking rear diff so traction was not an issue.
