Conservative offset w Wide wheel
Hey all,
Did some research before posting, but still couldn't find an answer.
Whats the most conservative offset I can use on the rear without running into rubbing issues with the strut or inner wheel well?
My goal is to stuff the widest wheel possible using a conservative offset to counter the wide wheel (and stretch the hell out of the tire). Want to go 11" or 11.5" if possible...
Let me know folks.
And what do you think is a solid conservative offset for the front? Thinking about a 9" rim there....
Oh, and I'll be running 19's, MAYBE 20's.

If you're going to run a stretch tire, no need to run a conservative offset. Run aggressive. I'm running a 9.5" front and 10.5" rear. I think 11's would be tough in the rear. Would depend on how low you go and your camber as well to the offset. 245/30/20, 265/30/20 tires

Understood, but the more conservative of an offset I can get away with (without rubbing on the inside against the shock or inner wheel well), the wider rim I can go.....
Alternatively put, the more aggressive of an offset I go, the less room I would have to run a wide rim....
For example, on my last car, a 05 LS430, I was able to stuff a 11.5"+49 wheel outback (with no rear fender pull), when others with 10"+30 were getting the same outer fender clearance as I was. I was able to fit because of the conservative offset. You guys kinda get what I'm saying?

And my question is why do you want to run a wide rim if you don't want to run a wide tire? Most people who run wide rims w/ aggressive offsets and stretch tires is to max the lip size

Bunch of reasons- the additional width costs nearly nothing more when ordering custom rims. Looks way more aggresive from the back and a stretched tire is always more stable than a stuffed tire. Lip size is just a bonus ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Anybody? Per doing some research I've found one guy with around a 10.5 +36 (which is pretty aggressive considering the rim width). I'm starting to think I could fit a 11 or 11.5+ 42-50. Just trying to see if there's anybody else on here with such offsets..

11. or 11.50 will become a nightmare if u got weight in the rear and hit a dip . Safe is 10inch and you should still get a 3 inch lip . i think i got 10. in the rear on my car and you should still rolls the wheel well to be safe .

Maybe I'm just not understanding what you're wanting to do or we have different definitions of aggressive. Regardless, my current rear setup is a 10.5" +32. Hope that helps you
