Just purchased an '08 E63, and with the vehicle I received all the manuals that came with the car. There is a manual for the voice control, and the voice control "stick" is on the column, but on the COMMAND unit, there's no soft button for the VC tips. How do I know if the car has it or not? Pulling on the stick does nothing right now.

Your absolutely right, pulling the stick it will only beep. Its waiting for you to say a command. The next time say "help" it will giver you a tutorial. But I that their is no manual for voice control. Granted voice control isn't as functional as as is in my C63. I was told by Mercedes that is just a stop gap measure that was instituted until the new COMAND interface came on line W204 and W212. Mercedes wanted to give their owners some control over the COMAND. But voice control is limited, to radio, AM/FM, telephone. It's more of a pain to use, as most Commands aren't recognized. So I don't use it, sorry. Now my C63 it does everrything.

Yeah, no deal. When I pull the stick, it doesn't beep, I sat in the car and talked to it for a while, nothing at all. And, there's no soft button for the VC when in the SERV.

So I had the exact same thing on the same year. I member on here was nice enough to run my VIN, confirm that I did have Voice Command and that there was a bulletin on it. I took it to the dealer, they fixed it and now I use it all the time. Just me 2 cents.

i have never used that Voice command !!! tried once too damn annoying .

You might need to visit the dealer to fix your VC problem.

I actually like the voice command for phone calls. I'm on the road a lot and in Illinois if you even think about your cell phone you can get a ticket. I use it for my most common calls, like the wife.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll be making an appointment with a dealership next week to hopefully clear this one up. I have to say, besides this little annoyance, the car is really stunning.
