E55 renntech
NEW MEMBER/ Help
wanted some feedback (help) bought a E55 04' renntech stage 5 with 69k miles. It has extras such as renntech lowering module and Hre 540 3 piece 18 inch wheels. The car is immaculate for $24,750. Wondering if first I got a good deal. and second stage 5 consists of what and what type of hp and torque will the car make. Also I see that the car does not have any aftermarket exhaust. Which would be recommended for the most hp gains with the renntech parts on the car. Thanks in advance for the help

I know the car you bought. Looked to be very clean and that is a great price. Anyhow, it has airbox, 168 pulley, TB, headers and tune. I wouldn't mess with the exhaust except to remove primary cats. Other then that I would look into cooling mods, ie new pump and HE.

I see on some posts 180mm pulleys vs 168mm that you say it has what would be the difference, and what would you recommend on cooling and what would that give me hp wise. by the way were you looking at buying the car and if so why did you pass on it. Thanks

Yeah, I would have been living in it. My wife wasn't going to put up with another car.
I think you got a super good buy. All maintenance history, mint interior and those mods! You did really well!

can you tell me about the different pulleys and what the difference would be, I had a cls55 prior but no motor upgrades, and where i would go to look into the cooler and next stage in creating HP, I want to make this a beast.

Me personally, I would delete the primary cats and I would get a new tune from OE Tuning. A 180mm pulley will make more power then a 168, but the Renntech pulleys are pretty darn reliable, so I don't think I would mess with that quite yet. LT headers will make more power over the Renntech shorties, but up to you on whether or not you want to take that next step. There are a few threads on here about inexpensive HEs so just search for those.

Why have it retuned, and where is the place you are talking about? Have they made advances over the years since the mods where done, and should I be able to get more HP out of it.What about the exhaust is it worth the money to make a change would I get anything out of it except sound above and beyond the resignators. Do you have any preference to the coolers from personal experience.
