P0128 Code thrown...

Check engine light came on yesterday during a 2 mile round trip to the grocery store.

Read it when I got back (P0128) and it looks like a coolant thermostat issue.

I erased it and will see if it comes back...but...

Anyone else had this fail? I just tripped 46k two days ago.

Yes...just searched...and found a few. Doesn't seem too common.

More common than you think. No big deal. Get your IC Pump changed out while you're doing the job and kill 2 birds with one stone, because if you haven't already I bet that thing's on it's way out.

Just changed mines out yesterday. Part cost me $63 from the dealer and the part number is 1132030275. I also changed out the thermostat sensor (0005425118) at the same time which cost $12. I erased the light and so far everything is good.

Maybe that grill is blocking the airflow! LOL JK, I know how sensitive you are about your grill!

You guys can all suck it!

Just so you know, I did a baseline dyno run the other day with my factory grille...and then tried it with my super-awesome totally rad grille that you guys are all jealous of and here's the result:

Yeah. So there. My grille adds 30 HP!!

Now. Back to the real issue.

Sounds like replacing that sensor...if you do actually have to remove the s/c...is a total pain in the ****.

Easy bruv no issue from me, I just don't get why people pick on your grill in every thread you start...it gets old. BTW where did you dyno the beast? I need to do some runs. TIA

Hey John,

I get the same code once every 6-9mo or so. It usually occurs during the cooler months when I making short trips around town. I haven't notice any issues with the car slowly warming up or running hot so I just ignore it. It seems as if a few members have solved the problem with a DIY project. Hopefully, someone posts helpful insight in getting rid of the problem once and for all.

Courtney
