Hyper bro just because the car says 3 or 2 on the dash being in s or c node dosnt mean its not down shifting.

If your in s and click the shifter to say 3 it will hold 3 gear driving around and only shift to 4th at redline in 3rd.

Try this and be careful, put it in s 3 and do 15 mph and click the - paddel on the wheel,it will go to first and not second because you were in second already.

In c mode you put a crap load of strain on the torque converter starting in second.

Aye Once I get through all of the maintenance items I want to do and ensure everything is working as it should it will be time to start thinking about that

Whenever starting from a dig or rolling at low speed, <15 mph, and I stomp on the gas, there is a slight hesitation at around 1500-1700 RPM, just for a second or so, enough to throw my head forward, then the car quickly takes off again as if nothing happened.

Any one had this issue and correctly diagnosed the problem? Thanks for the help!
It is normal. When you start from with a throttle less than 20% or so, and that 20% throttle pedal acceleration (d theta/dt) is not too much, then the ECU does not clutch the supercharger. Now, if you stomp it in lower gear the RPM rise quickly and the supercharger is also engaged, which is the hesitation you perceive.

To not have hesitation, try tapping the throttle real quick from a stop just to make the ECU engage the supercharger and carry on till the next stop. This time it wont hesitate if you throttle it from a dig or roll until your next stop when it declutches the charger again. This was for the S mode. In C mode, it declutches it below 19 mph too if you are just cruising, in which case there would be engagement hesitation. I think in M mode, if you tap it and engage and do some spirited driving, the ECU delays the disengagement till it comes back to one of the S/C modes.

Thanks for all the helpful posts!!

From listening to people in and out of this thread I think I have a better understanding of how S/C engagement on this vehicle works, and how to go about learning to control it.

Cheers!

The holding of gear on upshift varies across year models and EGS tunes. For example my OEM 06 would hit limiter in manual, and auto upshift in S at pretty much power peak. Now with Kleemann EGS "mod" (for 2.82 diff and sharper shifts), even in manual I cannot hit the limiter, which is not necesarily a bad thing, as hitting the limiter in first cannot be good for anything. Auto upshift in S is fair enough. C ? who ever uses C?

I was going to say the title is a contradiction in terms for this car but figured it was either car shifting to 1st from second or ESP.
Hey, hey man...Don't even think about insulting "c" mode...

How do you think I pull in at home on late nights without waking the neighbors....

E350 hesitation during acceleration at low speed

Very dangerous when trying to merge into next lane with tight gap
