Yeah I actually noticed today, It's kind of ****ed up when you think about it.
Because the e55 basically downshifts, doesn't tell you, then upshifts when needed. All while still showing it is in 2nd gear.
So in other words it lets you think you are shifting yourself when you still aren't.
But yeah it doesn't automatically upshift passed the gear you have selected, but it will auto-downshift below and back up to the gear you have selected.

Damn, you guys are young whippersnappers! I must be bringing up the rear at 46 years old.
As for the coolant light, take of the coolant cap and turn on the engine. Make sure your heater is on as well. Then just fill with coolant as the level should go down once you do this procedure. If the coolant level is fine and the light is still on, it is probably your coolant level sensor that is bad.
On caveat. If the coolant level is indeed lo, you better find out the reason.

Those are some odd numbers... You are putting 100 more torques that hp out? I'm stock except for some cooling mods and an exhaust system. Putting 410whp and 444rwt. I haven't had any trouble with downshifts, but then again I drive in Sport not manual and only manual seems to downshift further than I want it to.
