tell ya what. ill admit that i did alter my appearance to fit into a forum, simply because nobody wants a 'kid' coming on an AMG forum.. ive seen posts where people have done the same and i did not want to be treated differently. but you still insist i bought it used, false. my dad bought it in 2003, brand new. flew to Pennsylvania and drove it back to Illinois. parked it in 2005 when he expanded his business. then in 2007, i offered to take it off his hands, and of course he had his doubt (me wrapping myself around a tree), and i dont blame him. im his son and this car is in fact a beast for the matured driver. he then handed it over to my mother, and she drove it maybe 4 times a year, as she was always paranoid about leaving it in public, because first time she did, the hood emblem was stolen, while she was in a store. then in december 2010, she decided that i could use a nicer set of wheels, and i got an envelope with the keys for christmas, hence the January 2011 join date. so, when you say people will like me for who i am, i knew it wasnt true, like i said, ive seen some threads. so heres your public apology, from yours truly, -John

I would just take it and have the coolant flushed. It cost about $200 at the stealership but well worth the preventative maint. Plus they can look at your tranny issue!

I would not take an 03 e55 to the dealer without any waranty, they will rape you with no lube, actually if you want they can charge for some lube also.Take it to a indy shop.

Dont fill the coolant all the way,I leave about 2 inchs looking into it.Every couple of days open the cap a little to let some pressure out and see if it needs more coolant.

guess this is my first "real" post, but anyways. its showing a coolant light in the ic, but not the too low one. i checked under the hood and its a little under half a tank. so i suspected this is the cause of the light. but it only comes on sometimes.

Now this is a different story...make friends with your shop and they should take care of you...SHOULD, mine hates me bc I have an AMG and young and they dont even sell them... But i have never heard of that light before, just low coolant..

You are making assumptions bro, I've only been on the forums for a few months and I'm 18 & a Student. Granted I bought the car with my own money not and hand-me down, but still I figure as long as you respect the car and take car of it on your own then no one will treat you differently. Every time I've made a thread asking about something all I've gotten was help. So it's not about your age it's about how you act & treat your beast.

Just sayin........

I know 200 isnt that much but just a heads up for other things. While I had them change my tranny oil I asked how much it would cost for spark plugs and he said about 1500.

Im not even sure if that was with new wires but hope it was.

Yeah I actually noticed today, It's kind of ****ed up when you think about it.

Because the e55 basically downshifts, doesn't tell you, then upshifts when needed. All while still showing it is in 2nd gear.

So in other words it lets you think you are shifting yourself when you still aren't.

But yeah it doesn't automatically upshift passed the gear you have selected, but it will auto-downshift below and back up to the gear you have selected.
