Anyone Use This Lift?

I have been using a friend's lift to the majority of my vehicle's maintenance but I would like to be able to do it in my own garage. I don't really have the option to put a permanent lift in my current garage, so I have been looking for other solutions and came across this:

http://www.ezcarlift.com

There is an assembly/usage review at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag1IcZONWh8

Anyone use it or could recommend other similar systems? My only concern is that we have all those plastic covers under our car and I bet this would make it impossible to get them off. I guess they could be removed before getting the car up on the lift...

the thing i didn't see mentioned were some sort of safety latch while it is raised.

oh, and depending on how high this unit is while underneath the car. you could use a 2x4 block of wood and place it under the jacking points so it doesn't ruin the under panels.

I think they sell the correct spacers that may alleviate this...

Interesting concept. I do wonder about the safety in the raised position. Side to side rocking for instance. +1 on the saety latch.

Also didn't see any width adjustment. Couldn't find it on the web site....link please ?

Hope it's not made in China. $ 1800 seems a little steep.

Aww mannnn, 1800!!!!?? I was super pumped until you dropped that one.

That seems great for little stuff.

Man for 1800, you are in the ballpark for one of these.

Even for $500 more that one looks much better but you obviously need the space. $1800 seems like a rip for a glorified jack.

www.ezcarlift.com is the website... Looks pretty damn sturdy to me!

And yes, it has width adjustment...

You're missing the point... I need a portable lift, not a permanent one like this...

A Dannmar Max Jax is @ $1900. It will be less on a group buy.

And A Dannmar MaxJax requires it to be bolted to the concrete. It is portable, I understand, but I don't want to drill into the floor of my garage...

Maybe you can look at other scissor lifts? There are those that are portable, but have hydraulic motors to actuate the lift. They are heavy, but much more sturdy and have locking positions.
