ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE FROM CRACK IN OIL PAN
Just sorted out the sagging rear suspension on my 06 e55 by changing both rear air springs. Took the opportunity to inspect the underside of the car and discovered oil seeping slowly from my engine oil pan thro a transverse hairline crack. When ordering a new oil pan I discovered MB had changed part nos at least twice - indicating some redesign and mods, possibly covered by some service bulletin. Has anyone had this problem before? Is there any service bulletin covering it? Has the new oil pan Part no A113 010 10 28 proven more reliable or should I simply do a TIG weld repair (not in situ) on the old one? Much obliged for any info.

I know the M113 has at least 5 different pans for various applications.
We do have the service bulletins listed in the stickies.
Is the crack near either of the drain plugs?

Thanks for responding Yacht Master. The MB workshop manager said so. Showed me the page (on his computer) with the changes. The 3-inch (approx) transverse hairline crack is near the front end of the pan and doesn't extend to either drain.
