I have driven the 55 with kompressor and i have owned 3 cars with the 6.3 and a couple of M5's...the 63 is the best imo. M5 would've been awesome hadn't it been for the horrible tranny. As others have said a 55 is great for modding. I now drive an E 63 and have a C 63 on order. Love the engine.

Agreed on many points.

The 63 is simply awesome, and great for those of us who are not "modders".

The M5 looks so great, handles so well, but the tranny situation is completely abhorrent and caused me to leave the BMW family.

Looks great..... the E60 is the ugliest M5 they have built to date. Looks like a 525 with wheels.
