I don't necessarily think that's the case, I think kids have always been there. It's just that some are growing up, and some aren't.

That's because you are one of the aforementioned 'kids' who aren't old enough to know what I am referring to.

This is what happens when these cars become more affordable to the younger crowd. I saw it happen in the NON-AMG W211 forum 2 years ago, and now it's happening here.
As soon as you can pick up any MB model in the $20's, that part of the forum goes to hell. Get used to it, these kids aren't going anywhere now that 2003's can be had for a ham sandwich.

Another thing that is ridiculous is actually asking people (99.9% of which you don't know) their opinions about which car they should buy... How can anyone else but yourself say which car you should/should not buy. I don't get it!

Remember the M6/M5 versus E55 thread that Phil finally had to close?
I think this is what's starting to happen now on MBWorld with the E55/E63:
It makes me want to get rid of my M5 b/c all the losers can finally buy beat-up high mileage early production M5's. The original owners that had the wherewithal to buy the cars new are dwindling on M5board and so is the level of intelligence and class. I hope it doesn't turn into E46fanatics...
This thread is ridiculous and closed.

QFT--- I cant even count on one hand the users who had an E55 (new) before I did. I got mine 7 years ago. I think only Benzoboi is still around and maybe choice few others.
And now we will see more complaint posts about wear and tear issues... on their 5-8 year old E55's.

Well said, and oh so very true. There has definitely been an increase in these types of posts as well as the "affordability" of these vehicles. As mentioned by others, it has the repair bill for a $100k vehicle, no matter how much you pay for it. People forget that and then come to these posts whining about maintenance costs... It's getting to be ridiculous!

So now you've just insulted half the members on this board. Nice.
If it wasn't for the fools out there, you wouldn't be able to get your 'rust bucket' hand me downs. And all the thrift stores where you buy your clothes wouldn't exist, either.
You can thank the folks here who work hard and have the available funds to buy new, and enjoy the pleasures of buying new, for all of your belongings.
It's the only part of trickle down economics that will ever affect you.......

Do me a favor and please don't group all of the younger E55 drivers in one basket. I've had mine since I was 19 (22 now) and I've never really done, or even said much dumb **** on here.

Look, it's all relative.
You could be a 40 year old with lots of assets, a paid for home, and making gobs of income, who decides to spend one of your big royalty checks on a brand new car. Depreciation doesn't matter, the car's just for fun.
Or you could be a 20-something living on paycheck to paycheck, still renting, and wondering how to get a warranty because an airmatic strut just failed on your 7-year old 60k mile used AMG you just took out a loan to buy.
Or you could be somewhere in between.
The point is, don't call people "fools" just because their comfort level and desires are a lot different than yours......
