took the air filter housings off and found a split hose

Question took the air filter housings off and found a split hose
right under the driverside airbox, about under the M on the surge tank AMG badge. anybody know what this is to? def. not liquid or air because its 100% split from the end about an inch up. any help on how to change/where to buy is greatly appreciated. -John

looks like, but theres no leakage or anything. its almost right under the surge tank, right under the afh. about halfway up the block

2006 E55 AMG --old cars -- E39 M5, 2.7tt Audi S4, E36 M3 **Ducati 996, 748
breather hose -- not a big deal because its not a vacuum line -- but car will run smoother if you fix it... i believe that tube goes to the driver's side airbox Y-tube.

Any 7/16 hose will work. May not OEM look, but will work.

And yes, it's PVC hose, connecting right valve cover to left valve cover.
