Oily Spark Plugs

I've read that oil on the threads of a plug can be caused a few different things, ranging from a leaking valve cover gasket to bad piston rings. Trying to figure out what it can be I'm sure isn't the easiest thing to do. With that said I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction.
I started pulling plugs on the drivers side, towards the rear of the engine. The pictures show plug 8-B as being oily, and plug 5-A appearing to be normal, as far as I can tell. 8-A looked similar to 8-B, moving toward the front of the engine the oil stopped appearing on the threads at around plug 6-A, with 6-B being the last plug with oil on the threads; specifically at the top of the thread.
Aside from plugs 8-A and 8-B, the remainder of plugs that has oil on them has oil at the top of the threads.
This would lead me to believe, and hope, that this is NOT being caused by bad rings. The car has 55K miles on it, and has nearly impeccable service records from the previous and only other owner. Any ideas of what I can look for, without tearing apart the engine?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as always.

Ok, that is good to hear. I will probably replace the valve cover gaskets then and pull the plugs that were oily in a few hundred miles and see if they are gunked up and go from there.
Thanks!
