E55 AMG
Almost NO vehicles come with forged wheels. All the factory aluminum wheels u see on every car are cast aluminum. If they were that fragile then wheel "implosions" would be a worldwide epidemic. Once again there are no pothole-proof wheels.

Well aware, and good point. I was thinking that my using 30/25 series played a part in my rims cracking. One other thing I was thinking on, is how much do my 18 AMG OEM's weigh as opposed to the Euro 63's?

Does anyone know about OEM AMG rim weight? (I may need to Bing this)

Talking

Except for these.

They would make great winter wheels. Who wants to be the guinea pig? Talk about a first on an AMG....... Lol

Check out what happened to my Vossen 083 cast rims last weekend on a pothole, right side both rims are cracked in HALF:

I would contact vossen, because that is not NORMAL. Bending etc ok, cracking sure... but to split apart like that seems absurd.

I'll probably be gone by the time you all read this.
It's Chinese quality control that bothers me more than anything. They aren't TUV approved and of course TUV approved doesn't mean a product can't fail. But most Chinese made products have no third party inspections and approval of any sort. Would you feel more comfortable buying electrical parts for your house that aren't UL or CE approved just to save a few bucks?

If these Chinese wheels are strong at high speeds and have been tested, then that's news to me and I retract what I said.

It's not about spending X number of dollars, but just being certain I'm not putting myself or others in jeopardy in any way. But there are tons of failing products of all kinds out there because they're cheap to make and therefore inexpensive.

Everybody likes to talk about owning a Mercedes because they're safe, but then sometimes skimp on the four things that actually connect it to the road: tires and wheels.

Is that wheel powder coated by any chance?

justinwrock tracks his car with these rims and no problems... The rims have been around for quite some while now, im sure people have put tons and tons of miles on them over the years... yet no complaints from anyone. (asides the bending.) Its safe to safe they are "reliable". Time to time some wheels do have problems, I have seen a fair share of problems with companies such as sevas, 360 forged, vossen, and so forth... Not saying Monarchs are even comparable, but for the price its a good bang for the buck. In the end, you get what you pay for...

A Prius because I'm green
I have a set of 19" matte black center with the chrome lips for sale. Catch is one of the fronts has a bent lip so if you can find a replacement I will part with the other three cheap. They were not on the car long, just served as a temp while I found a replacement for my SL wheels that got damaged in a blow out.

I bought a set of RS 63s in 19" last week for my E500. They are already starting to get a few small stone dings on the flat part of the lips. Any way to prevent this from happening other than being careful about road debris? I'm going to see if a paintless dent repair guy can remove the dings, if it's successful, he'll have a regular customer.

Hey Baldmike; DNJ Wheels in Garden Grove, CA has them. Talk to Jonathan there; 800-330-9525, www.DNJwheels.com. I had them mount and balance a new set of Falken FK-452 tires, 245/35/19 fronts, 275/30/19 rears. The price was $2200 for everything including conical-seat chrome lug bolts, anthracite/chrome MB center caps, chrome valve stems, and shipping to Atlanta. They look even better in person. No difference in ride quality from the stock 17s, the fit and finish of the wheels is excellent. I was debating between these and some well-worn Iforged 3-pc. 19s without tires for the same price.

Some up to date weights. I just shipped 20" Monarch's, 245/30 fronts, 285/25 rears.

Weighed by Fed Ex the fronts were 60 lbs and rears 69. That of course includes the box which was 24"x24"x24", but it was the same box for all 4.

I picked up some OEM CLS wheels in 18". Plan on getting them painted/powder coated. I wasn't kidding when I said I wanted to go back down in size.

any guess how heavy 20" mandrus millenniums would be with tires?

considering buying another set, but don't want them to be SUPER heavy
