So What Were Your First Mods E63 Folks?
Sorry if this has been covered. I am slowly going through each page catching up on months of threads about the E55 and E63 cars. Great info !!! My question is, what are some of the best mods for the E63? Basically intake, exhaust, and program? I know it doesn't mod like the E55. Two different animals:-) I was warned about the mod-ability when I chose the E63. All in all are there any mods outside of coil-overs, rotors, and pads that are worth the money?
I come from the Vette world where we can mod the heck out of them to the point of undrivability:-)

Their aren't many mods that can be done on the E63 on the cheap. Try www.evosport.com and trust me, their not cheap.

filters, carbons, and resonator. another cheap option for some more sound, and probably free up a few hp up top, secondary cat removal add X/H pipe in place.

I'll tell you the mods that I know work 100% and are worth a good amount of power... although they are not cheap as mentioned earlier. My power estimates are conservative, as I've seen numbers fluctuate on different cars, so I rather stay on the safe side.
1) Removing the charcoal filters and adding K&N or BMC: 5 whp
2) Good Long-Tube Headers: 25 whp
3) ECU Tune: 20 whp
4) RENNtech Carbon Fiber Airboxes: 10 whp (these airboxes actually show more gains on the track when there is a 120 mph wind slamming into the intake, and by the way, these air boxes are the only 63 air boxes on the market that has shown actual, repeatable, consistent power increase).
5) RENNtech twin 82mm throttle bodies: 10 whp
- MHP has developed a relatively aggressive set of cams that will probably be worth a good chunk of power, but the software for them is not ready yet. I think their in the final stages of working out the software issues.

0) Lightweight Forged Wheels and/or lightweight rotors
Stay away from MHP, Andy scammed me of $3k for a Lexus Tune that made less power on my IS-F. He took 2 and half month to send me back the ECU and he definitely didn't stand behind his work when I asked for a solution.

By the way, you can also take it a little bit to the extreme and try the following:
- Carbon Fiber Dymag Wheels: 24 rwhp
- Light weight rotors, light-weight underdrive pulley: 10 rwhp
- A touch of SLS parts: heads, cams, intake, etc....
Also, Weistic just released their Stage 1 supercharger package for the 63. It is said to add 140 rwhp to the C63, so maybe only 60 to 80 rwhp to other 63 models. Their Stage 2 package will soon be released.

Actually, it still does - at least in ET NOT trap ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yes, jrcart has had good success with SLS parts. He has done intensive research in that area and his car is one of the strongest running 63s out there. He hasn't been posting as much as he used to, but you can PM him and I'm sure he'll fill you in.
