Keyless-go-ing going gone

I remember a news story on someone doing that exact thing here in Dallas, quite a few years ago. I think it was a Camry left running in the garage, keys in the ignition. Unfortunately, same outcome - at least one death from CO, that I remember.

I had a Prius with keyless. I was at the auto auction jumping in and out of the car looking at vehicles and as I stepped out for the twentieth time, the car started beeping real loud. I turned around and watched it putting away. Not only did I leave it "running" but didn't select park either. A couple of clear advantages of a Prius. If you leave it "running", there is no carbon monoxide and they are so slow you can catch them.

No sympathy here whatsoever, especially now with people not wanting to take responsibility for their own stupidity. We can't always protect stupid from stupid but we can sure waste alot of time and money trying.

On a side note, i have been wanting to try to see how far down the road the car would get without the key. I do know upon leaving my driveway without the key the cluster flashed red and says key not recognized.
