airmatic passenger front failure

Not that the forums need another airmatic failure story but ... went out to the car, open the door, key in the ignition, and i hear a noise like air being forced to squeak out of a balloon. it went on for a bout 60 seconds. then i check the passenger front and it is completely dumped.

from the searching, it doesnt look like there is much troubleshooting to this, in this situation with those symptoms, the bladder has a hole or tear and the pump cannot fill it up.

so i ordered the arnott strut replacement, and hopefully that will fix it.

a little more information ... just installed new 20" hre's and lowering links over the weekend as well. but i think that is just a coincidence ... seems like the airmatics go out a good bit on these cars.

i just got the car in december (used) and it has 37k miles.

My guess is you started off with a very small leak in the strut that got pronounced after lowering probably due to increased pressure in the strut assuming a drastic drop that is.
