Did some searching - aux battery questions/summary thread....
Looking for a summary here in this thread -
1. Red Visit Workshop/Battery light appears in cluster since 3 days ago. Car starts fine & all convenience functions work. I suspect its only a matter of time before radio & climate control stop working. More than likely, aux battery needs replacing though correct? I believe this battery also powers the brakes....
2. How long approx (daily driver) should I expect this battery to last? Does it need to be replaced ASAP to avoid issues? The thread by Nait Sirc (sp?) states his main battery lasted an additional 8 months.....
3. I have heard a motorcycle or possibly the Braille battery may work... Truth?
4. If I do it myself (I know where its located) do I need to find a power source to grab power from, so as not to lose all settings...? I presume I will still need to reset windows & sunroof, etc....
Thanks!!

Your confusing the two batteries, the one I. The trunk is for the brakes, and throttle. Etc... The one in the engine compartment is most likely not your problem. Although it's best to replace them both at the same time. And I strongly advise NOT ignoring this, it might be the alternator. Head to autozone and have them test the battery an alt.
