Removing Those Ugly Warning Stickers...Mess
I broke out the hair-dryer the other day and tried to remove those ugly 4x6 seatbelt warning stickers on the driver and passenger sun shades and made a darn mess. Even under heat they don't want to come off clean. Any tips for getting these off of my AMG? I hate stickers and badges.

I have a big old bottle of Goo-Gone, Dan...the shades are like a cloth/felt, not smooth. The sticker is pasted in with the cloth. I'll post up a pic later.

I'd like to see exactly how to do this, too. The previous owner of my car started to remove them but only got them about halfway off. They're a bit of an eye sore if you aren't used to seeing them.

i just did this on my e55 last week and, while it is slightly noticable (the suede is lighter/cleaner under the sticker and even with heating you're bound to pull the suede a bit), it looks fine and much better imo. i used a very hot blow dryer and the longer i let it heat up the better it seemed to release/look.

Goo gone or 3M adhesive remover works on the 55s Alcantera/suede with little effort. I used a syringe to apply 3M to the edge and peeled it a little at a time, wetting the separation zone with the 3M, came off clean.

Did my CLK 55. I peeled the sticker off and then applied ice in a baggy to any remaining glue. After the glue was hard I scraped it with my fionger nail then used something like packing tape to stick to the rubbing to take them off. Any glue that was stubborn I used a fabric shaver after the finger nail scraping. It sound worse then it is and let the suede perfect. You can't tell they had stickers on them. I think the key is cold not hot.

Yeah, mine has that Alcantera liner. I'll try the Goo-Gone this week and see if I can get it off. Goo-Gone has cleaned up quite a few of my messes over the years.
Ohh yeah...got some Zanio for the outside as well.
