E55 Sound System Build Thread - Christmas Time!!
Well not really, but I am about as happy as a kid on christmas morning! Just dropped off all of the audio goodies that are going into the e55 next week! Going to be an absolutely insane system (well almost as insane as jayhawkblks or AMGFAN's)
Have to throw a huge shout out to Don Amann (6spdcoupe) for all of his help at ridiculous times of the day for me! He is literally the easiest person to deal with regarding audio systems, and has been able to help me through every single step or question I have had. I originally contacted him regarding the Dynavin headunit he had for sale, and ended up being a purchase of a whole lot of other stuff haha! I am extremely excited about the install and have asked the shop to take a load of pics which I will be updating as progress is made!
If you have any questions about a sound system for your e55 give him a shout, he will not try to oversell you or give you the runaround, if you want great advice from a real person who cares about you, Don is the guy, you aren't just a bank account to him, he genuinely wants to help you! PM him if you have any questions at all!
The goodies:
Dynaudio Esotar 3-way components (650,430,110) up front
Dynaudio Esotec 2-way components (242GT) in the rear
Dynaudio Esotar 1200 subwoofer x2
Tru Technology Billet 2200 Level 3 amp for the subs
Tru Technology Billet 2200 for the rear speakers
Tru Technology Billet 4100 Level 3 for the fronts
Tru Technology 8 channel Line driver
Zapco DSP6 with DRC for the signal processing
Escort 9500ci with integration into the rear view mirror and ashtray
Dynavin MBE headunit for OEM integration
BlackHole sound deadening throughout
It barely all fit in my trunk, but I am extremely excited to get this all installed! Going to be like a studio on wheels haha

Thanks man! I can't wait either, I'm so impatient so this sucks haha
If you know an audio person you can trust in your area I would do what I was originally thinking of, which is a JL audio 13TW5.
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?page_id=245
It's a really badass sub, super shallow mount, so you wouldn't lose almost any trunk space. can place it in the stock location with a box suspended from the baffle and it would sound incredible paired with a jl audio HD 750/1
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=483
That combo would give you a ton of bass (since it already fires into the cabin) but wouldn't overpower the stock system as it has 5.1 setup already so I am hoping the fronts would be high passed (someone correct me if I am wrong). Wouldn't be too expensive at all to do, as long as you know someone who isn't going to try to rape you on price like some car audio shops will do!

I can get a few before the install if you would like? I was impressed that the rear of the unit basically mirrors the OEM part, looks like it should be no hassle to install!

Sure! Will take some pics today! Ordered it from Don (6spdcoupe) but that was the only one he had or was getting. I am pretty sure I will be selling this unit as soon as the new kenwood DNX9980 comes out though, I just wanted something in the meantime to be able to hook up all of the aftermarket equipment

I love my sound system in the E55. I replaced all the HK junk they put in there and now it sounds so clear crisp and knocks like there is no tomorrow.

That's a gigantic enclosure man! Is it ported or sealed? I bet that makes a hell of a lot of bass! What speakers did you go with to replace the HK? I love those alpine head units!
Still haven't received the kicks in, which reminds me I need to get on to them about that! Yessir will send you an e-mail right now!

Uppdate - The car has been fully gutted and ready for the installation of all of the sound deadening products.
Thanks to the mod for closing the other thread, I was trying to find out how to change thread titles but couldn't come across that info!
