What would you guys recomend?

If it's only for drag racing then get a 225/45 tire. If not then get a 245/40 tire.

And with that you feel I will be ok? instead od the 225-40-18 thats on there now? do you know how to calcluate tire height via tire size?

What you really ought to do (IMHO) is get the specs of your exact rear tire. General sizes vary quite a bit, manufacturer to manufacturer, so a rough calc based on the size isn't the best approach. Probably find it on M/T's website. If you're running the 265/40/18 (see below), the height is 26.5... that's pretty tall.

Then... go to tirerack.com and start searching for a proper front that'll match up with your rear tire. Looks like your best match will actually be a 245/45/18 front.

If you put the DR's on at the track you may or may not get the CEL. I've made about 5 passes on 265/40's and only got the CEL once. Cleared the code, never came back.
FWIW if you plan on driving to/from the track on the M/T's, you won't have them for long. They wear out very quickly. Also they do not handle rain very well. I spun a car around on the interstate going 45 mph in the rain. The car seemed stable until a big rig passed me. The back end immediately came around. I'll never drive with M/T DR's again.

While you ARE correct, the variation in size isn't all that much. I'd go for the 225's because they will drag less ( less width = less drag all other things being equal ). Also, buy one of those low rolling resistance tires. Anything to make your trap speeds higher. :y

I have 35s in front and 30s in back and no cel, so if your within 5 youd be good right?

Doesn't work that way...the width of the tire plays a role as well.

Because the second number (i.e. 30 or 35) isn't a static height measurement, it's the aspect ratio.

I wish I could the problem is as soon as I pull out of the driveway and reach 25 mph it starts going crazy every time. So I deff can play the clear the code game Id be doing it every 30 seconds. So Thats why I'am trying to figure this issue out as best as possible..

So Far I gather that A taller tire is needed in the front. Understood, Now the question is how far off can I be (height wise of the rear's??) What Iam saying is how touchy are the tolerances.... I measured my back tires mounted last night at about 26''. Fronts 24''..... So I have to be carefull how tall I gop on the front because of how low my car is to begin with.

The tolerance is pretty loose...but 2" is just way too much.

You make a good point, for drag racing. The wider front would help mitigate some of the understeering tendency while cornering, however. Trade-offs either way.

UPDATE:

So I disconnected the battery for about an hour, Then took the car out after hooking it back up. I noticed the ESP malifunction light came on but no ABS light. I drove stop and go for 20 mins with no problems!!! Thought all was good went home and parked it. then I got in my car to go to work this morning and as soon as I got around the corner both lights came on and It went into limp mode :(

-How could it work fine and then you shut it off and it sits overnight and has problems in the am?

-Iam still trying to find the right tire combo to match the rears I just figured since someone mentioned the battery reset I figured I would try it.

1. Put the larger aspect ratio tyres on the back......
2. Go into DYNO :v: MODE and switch everything off....
3. Hold down the brake pedal slightly with your left foot.
4. Floor the gas pedal with your right foot 15-30secs.............
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the error goes away........

Apologies, but just could not stop thinking that this was a good solution........

BAM! thats actually a great idea! put it in dyno mode, yea theyll be disabled but it wont throw the code. just BE CAREFUL! (which im sure you already know) just until you match the fronts
