Should I Worry About Audi's Trying to Race Me?

Here in Scottsdale there are lots of Audi's and I've had a few rev on me. These are S4's, S6's and even an S8, but from what I can tell I shouldn't be worried. I hear the RS6 station wagon is a monster with the 5.2L v10 but I don't think those are in the states.

So I don't think I need to worry, but figured I'd check here.

I very rarely drive fast on the streets, way to many cops, but I have blow a few tailgaters into the weeds which is always fun.

It's like....."BUH BYE."

Modded ones could be trouble, especially from a dig because of AWD and lighter weight.

you are correct RS6's never to the states unfortunately (Audi thought there was not enough demand for it). unless they are pretty heavily modded, I wouldn't worry in a straight line.

It says your stage 2?? Shouldn't have any problems with any of the Audi's.. Maybe an old B5 S4, but it would have to have a lot of work done (upgraded turbos..ect)..

My neighbor has a modded S4 and I find myself running him stoplight to stoplight on the way to work atleast once a week. My car is very lightly modded(for the next week) and I beat the S4 every time except for in the rain...

While on the sunject, figured I'd throw some vids your way
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAtbh...list=UL&fmt=22

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4Ztc...list=UL&fmt=22

At the end of the day like all races, boils down to the driver.
I reckon the S4 from these vids would take the E55 from a dig, without driver discrepancy

Watch out for B5 S4's and 2003 RS6's. Both have an amazing platform for modding and can be vicious.

Then again, just race them twice in a row, and guarenteed something will break on one of the runs, you should be golden

Newer S6 or S8 is no threat. I had a 2007 fully modded. Only ran a 13.2 @ 108-109. Older Turbo S4's can be monsters if fully built, but most are just bolt on cars making 350-400whp

That's were I lean on it. Your chances of running into Godzilla are so slim. It happens but more than not, it's just not gonna happen in day to day traffic.

I tried to race an R8 going +80mph after it flew past me on the freeway I was driving grandpa style at 65 mph-- I quickly got on his bumper and pulled next to him but he just slowed down to 60 mph-- I guess he heared my loud supercharger jet screaming and lost his *****.

A modded B5 S4, RS6, and V10 R8 is probably all you have to worry about. However, with enough money, you can make anything fast.

There were a few RS6s brought into the states through some loophole, though. I believe there are only a handful, one I think is even in AZ. Maybe you'll run across it one day.

2003 RS6's are beastly.

Had a 03 RS6 and from the dig there great but, I think from a rolling start you will not have any problems pulling from it.
Yes a modded S4 with upgraded turbos and supporting mods might be a handfull.
I will say though I do miss my Rs6 but the warranty expired and did not want those problems.
Did have the Rs6 flashed with flash for the ECU and made a huge diffirence but the tranny did not last and burnt turbos up pretty quick to.

I've raced modded S4's ( 250hp V6TT ) and modded RS6's ( the 450hp V8TT not the 580hp V10TT as they never arrived here ) and I have yet to encounter one that impresses me ( the S4 even had bigger turbos and it was killed on site...lol ).

But.... Will likely break down in the middle of the run.

Buddy of mine had an old B5 S4, modded to all hell and it lived in pieces on his garage floor. Not saying all are unreliable but his never seemed to run.

Pretty car when it was on the street though, RS4 bumper and LM's... Damn it looked nice.

To the OP, why would you be worried? You don't own the fastest car in existence so just enjoy the kills you give and respect the ones you receive.

I was getting mid/high 11's with my long gone B5 S4 Avant stage 3+. I would say street light racing forget about. Canyon runs forget about it.
Highway runs, I would say even until over 130mph then the E55 would kill. depend who has the jump first.

Damn I miss it....S4

I own an E55 (tune/pulley/heat exchanger/headers) and a 2.7 S4 (RS4 turbos/Meth injection and all the goodies). It's a very close call on which will win. My E has traction issues...even with the 275 RE-11's. The S4 can spin 3rd gear on the highway (every now and then)....but for the most parts it gets traction.
If you run into a well tuned stage III+ S4....it will be a fun run.

The (R)S4....

And then you have my A4.....which was a 1.8T (now 2.1) with a very large turbo running big boost (500+WHP). That would make my E look like its in reverse.

Looking at your car's mods, i would tend to say no. But Audi's are easily modded & that AWD is a big plus. You also have to take into consideration that there is always going to be someone faster.

USUALLY....

the only Audi's I have to somewhat think about are the B5 S4's. Those stage 3's are quick.

MOST OF THE TIME....

Of course there are always the extreme cases like TighTT with SUPER SLEEPER set up's also which are pretty rare.

I am comin from an A6 with the B5 S4 motor and know a few quick audi peeps here and there.

Usually don't have a problem with most audi's I run into.

Let me get this straight...you feel its necessary to start a thread so that you can ask people on this forum whether you should be 'worried' about racing an Audi..... Im not saying your gay - just doesn't make sense.

I JUST sold my 2001 S4 Avant stage 3 to my younger brother to free up space for the M5. I didn't take it to the track all that much, but my best time in it was 11.37 @ 126mph. And that was with full interior. I know a lot of the modded S4's are running around with a gutted interior.

Thanks guys and no I'm not gay. I ask because in the last 30 days as I've never really encountered them before I've had at least 5 Audi's rev on me as I don't know much about them as a brand I figured I'd ask here, and now I know everything!

I've yet to meet an Audi owner that I didn't like (very nice people in general), but as I knew nothing about the brand/car, figured I'd ask here.

Not trying to start an MB vs. Audi thread here, just wondering if I could take one if raced.

Thanks again everyone for the feedback, I'm more confident now.

PS. My license plate reads, "GONEIN4" so I'm guessing that's why cars rev on me from time to time, as they're probablly wondering if that's true. (It is by the way)
