If it's done right, you shouldn't need locktite. Especially if the factory doesn't call for it. Torque holds it on, no amount of any locktite will help at these torque levels.
Clean and polish the crank snout and pulley, best you can, clean the threads and assemble it. Check runout.
If it fails, you're going to have to pull the crank, otherwise, pull the crank now.
I hate to say it...but good luck.

What could possibly go wrong, right?

Is this the first time some one has attempted to install a 180mm pulley in an E55...Nope.... it has been successfully done several hundred times...

Do people who attempted to install this 180 mm pulley had their pulleys come off ...Nope...there are several hundred E55's running around with this pulley with out any issues

If all those E55's never had any issues with this pulley, then why the xxxx are we blaming it to a pulley

Bottom line is,either it's the installer or there's something wrong with the engine and things are not the way they are suppose to be

I think the OP should take a poll

. Should i attempt again to install this 180 mm pulley myself or
. Don't make it an Ego issue and let a professional install it for me

Dear Lord....how many times do I have to say THAT THE ORIGINAL INSTALL WAS BECAUSE I UNDER TORQUED IT DUE TO A FAULTY WRENCH. I've said it a hundred times already...why keep looking for other reasons other than what I've already said?

Me installing it has nothing to do with it...I did not do anything wrong ( procedure wise ). A "professional" with a faulty tool would have had the same issue. I will say it once again, I will install it MYSELF regardless of how many times I have to do it. It's not a decision I have to make as the decision has already been made.

I could do that.

Also, if any of you guys have any better ideas towards a more "permanent" locking of the damper let me know. I'm thinking of a parallel key because I've used them before on some tough machinery and they are robust, but I'm open to read of other locking mechanisms.
