E63s s213 2019 ,SOLD E63 Weistec, E55, C36
got mine sitting at home, was a pig to try and fit on at first attempt so i left it, will give it another go over the weekend, even the end of the S55 pipe is a different shape to the E55 one, maybe i will try and mould this to the E55 shape.

It's not "direct swap" you have to "muscle" it in. It'll fit.

This mod will produce absolutely negligible power...dynos will show no gain.
the car has plenty of intake area for its power level, stock and modified.

Im going to have to disagree with you on this one.. The stock system is pretty restrictive.. It seems members are seeing improvements with the TTM scoops, so clearly there is room for improvement..

If that is the case, your input matters, but as of now you are acting as an authority on the subject and all of us are interested as to what happened when you put YOUR E55 on the dyno and swapped out the parts.

You have 1 2.5" (approx. I'm at work and haven't measure) diameter tubes feeding each bank. These things will easily flow enough CFM for a 500bhp motor.
Let me put it to you this way, I made 700rwhp on a single 4 inch intake tube.
I've spent tons of hours working on my fathers SL55, but thats really irrelevant anyways. Power is airflow, regardless of what the brand is on the car.

I thought it was direct fit, I may not get it then..

Depends on what you mean by "direct fit." Both the S55 and SL55 tubes have the inlet side of the tube shaped to match the air pass-through by the radiator for those cars, which is a slightly different shape than the air pass-through on the E55. The S55 tube fits perfectly lengthwise, and once it's in place, the fact that the inlet shape doesn't exactly match the outlet shape of the pass-through is irrelevant since the outlet extends slightly into the tube. So I'd agree that for all intents and purposes, it's a direct fit, albeit the slightly different inlet shape.

Good, then I'm glad you now agree with us.
I'm not sure why you interpreted my post as attacking you. I simply wanted to know why you thought were an authority on this and why everyone else was wrong.
Alas, the collective subjective butt-dynos or personal anecdotes mean more than theoretical commentary.
For $12, it can't hurt
