2006 E55 Wagon value today?
A wholesaler bud of mine just called me...another wholesaler here in CT supposedly wants to unload a charcoal colored car with 60K on it....asking mid-30s !! That's all the info I have right now...can get more if it matters to anyone looking for one.
Seems awfully high for today (IMO) ...I know they are very rare but newer low mile E55 sedans we see with same miles in low 20s (wholesale)...
Chat, comments, thoughts welcomed. TIA

It is the law of supply and demand, wagons are few and far between and there are still more buyers than sellers. I paid mid $30's for my 05 E55 wagon with 55k miles in november of last year, but the car was in great shape, all books and records, the exact color combo I wanted, and still had an extendable CPO warranty.
I feel like I got a fair deal. The price of the sedans don't matter to me since they are a dime a dozen compared to the wagons.
I would say the car you are looking at is priced right and might be worth a bit more with a factory warranty.

Agreed ...super RARE ! Mid-30s seems high for wholesale...might be fine for a retail price....and yes, of course, also to the right buyer.
Do the wagons have the same fuel tank issues as the sedans?

Thank you sir, sweet wagon you have yourself
Here are the production numbers for the 211 AMG Estate:
E 55 AMG Wagon
2005 129
2006 64
E 63 AMG Wagon
2007 67
2008 62
2009 24
I have not heard about the wagons having any fuel tank issues
They made many, many, many more than that...just not many of them came to the USA/NA.

Thanks for the USA numbers; they have been well documented here before....but they aren't the total numbers produced.
Most folks think there were only 1500 500Es made, but they made over 10,000 of them ! ...only 1500 made it to the USA.
I think a white wagon might be the best color...looks fantastic ! Mid-30s for a clean example like yours sounds fair too. Nice score

I have ash interior with that wood.
It took me a while to warm up to it, but I think it looks good. It also works well with my 2 yellow Labs - you can't see the hair as much I had the charcoal interior with the black birdseye maple in my E55. With the AW exterior, I think that's the goods as far as E55 color schemes.
Your ride is gorgeous, FASN8N. Is it Star lowered?

So, if , for say, today a nice stock charcoal 2005 E55 wagon came up for sale with 60K on it....a reasonable price would be between 35-38,000 USD? Def not 40+?

Sounds reasonable, assuming no stories, good condition, decent options, all paperwork, and up to date service is complete. $38ish only if it still had a factory warranty in place. For $40k+ you are in the E63 wagon territory.

64,000 Miles
Body Style: Wagon
Exterior: Flint Grey
It's a bit unbelievable a used car dealership doesn't even have an actual digital cam in hand. All the pictures were decidedly shot with a cell phone... Scary

What do you make of the Autocheck on that wagon (it's free on ebay). It's been registered in more states than I think I've been in... If nice one's with warranty are worth middle-uppper 30s, then what about ones with spotty ownership histories and no warranty?

One of the guys on the LABusas board works at a used car dealer in CA. He posted some cars they had - couple of Ferraris, Mercedes, BMW, Maserati, etc - all the pics were taken with cell phones

No biggy that dealer you speak of doesn't have a decent pix; the cars tend to speak for themselves on name alone. Of course, once you get there it could be one that was ridden hard. This place is one of those 'dealers' ...looks like a dump on a drive by. I don't even think they are online even. (rural farmland joint in CT)

They are online: http://classiccargallery.com/gallery.php?g=1#inv278 The wagon is showing sale pending on their website, and they've taken it off ebay. Seems like an odd place to have an E55, they mostly deal in old muscle cars and semi-exotics. I wonder how they acquired the wagon? Anyone know if they bought it at auction? Given how quickly it sold, it seems they got their asking price. Seems the wagon premium is firmly in place, an equivalent sedan would fetch $28K on a good day.
