Bumper repaint question

Bumper repaint question
Backed my '06 Iridium silver in to a POS SUV that wasn't suppose to be there and yes i know i should have known better.
Anyways,i have 3-4 gouges in the center impact strip of the rear bumper and one on the bottom part of the bumper...
The questions are
1)- Is the center impact strip removable with out taking the entire bumper out ?
2)- Is it possible to color match "Iridium Silver" with air brushing technique or with the touch up ?
3)- The body shop guy ofcourse wants to sand,paint the scuffed area and then wants to clear coat the entire rear bumper. Does clear not come off with time ?

2. Yes. I had Flint Grey done perfect.
3. If you are in CA or another place requiring water based paint, then you gotta do that. If not, the spot repair guys can make it look perfect. CA changed in 2011 and put my buddies at "DingsPlus" effectively out of business.
