Yeah, I saw that after I took the pic, lol.
I parked an extra space over and turned my tire into the curb to get close and just be sure nobody parked next to him. But I think he knew the curb height pretty well, it's a really small town and that's a main shopping place. He seemed like a nice guy and we talked a little about AMG and the SLS, etc.. He said he did one of the AMG driving academy events a while back.
I spotted it at the hardware store earlier....

Man...I love the front of the SLS. I'll give him 6 months before he F'up the front apron. Not that I wish it on him, but it is when you let your guard down that it will happen. I have to make a concerted effort just to remind myself to look out for the concrete parking barrier every time I have to park.
Red on the SLS (and the CLK63BS for that matter) is smoking!

Red is definitely a beautiful color. It's been growin on me A LOT these days.
I'm surprised that the SLS parked that close to the curb. Same with the E...his wheels look like they are on the curb

But the wheels aren't anywhere near the curb and like I said in my post above, I pulled in near the curb and turned the wheel so the tire was next to it (not the wheel) It's kind of an optical illusion I think. fwiw, I've never had curb rash on any car I've owned and like AMGfan says it takes always watching what's near the front apron or wheels

I read on other forums about the SLS front being really low and in places like SF it's kind of a nightmare.

Actually those curbs are made of squishy foam marshmallow material. Nobody who lives here knows how to park (except maybe Jeff Bridges.)
What looks bizarre on the E Class is when you crank the wheels right (or left) and they tilt at an angle so much that it looks like something's broken. That's part of the illusion, too, like the wheel is mashed into the curb. But that front suspension design is what also gives the E such an amazing small turning radius.

Not typically an admirer of red paint schemes on sports cars, save for a particular Italian marque.
That SLS’s is certainly an attractive hue - far nicer than that on the catawampus Cayenne.
Pretty cool to be making a ‘hardware store’ trek in such a stunning machine...yours is indeed a lovely area of California.
I regularly stop off at La Super Rica when up your way.
