Forgestar F14s - Offset & Vibrations?

Just trying to see if ther many owners of the above wheels can provide their feedback to the following, as I am considering ordering a set of summer only 19s in black:

1. what are the best offsets for 19s for the best, most aggresive look with proper clearance but a flush look, with or without lowering?

2. anyone using any of tire size other than 275/245 and if so, without any rubbing issues?

3. any on-going vibration issues given the use of rings (metal now I believe)?

Thanks, really appreciate some input before making the final decision.

I have a set coming but I was never told about using rings. They can make them for your car with what ever offsets you want.

I went with 18s with and dont know the offsets off hand but can find out when they come in.

get ready to wait 2 months for the wheels tho if your thinking about getting them made.

They only come in 72 hub so you will need rings...and yes, you choose the offset so that's why I'm asking what ppl have or chose...if they know.

i have a set...they have little plastic hub rings. no big deal. no vibration. the rears are 19x10", offset is 35. that makes the rears flush with the fender. i ordered a new set of CF5s, and made the rear offset 42, just to tuck them under a tad. fronts are 8.5", offset 32? don't quote me on the front offset. those are tucked in factory style.

Since you asked....

I steer clear of rims that use rings based on my past experience with other wheels and rings.
Aluminum rings are nice, but they are much more likely to expand and contract based on external temps. I have also heard a story where the metal rings nearly fused to the rim.

I generally agree with the theory on rings but it seems like these particular brand of rims have a good overall history....hence the reason i was willing to forgo the theory...unless everyone he had issues with Forgestar rims....so hopefully more will respond....

You recognize that there are issues with rings but you think these rims may be "different"?

Confused.

Just say what you really want to say....HELLO...MCFLY???

Yes, what I think I know needs to be backed up with evidence....since I dont have any, i think the users are the best form of evidence here....ergo, if many F14s are used and continue to be used, I'm hoping that is evidence that there really arent as many issues as I thought...

I have Forgestars with the metal centering rings on my car (SRT-6) which is my track toy. Up to now I've had no issues. I've only had them on the car for 5 or 6 weeks and 4 Solo events but I drive the snot out if it. I have cracked A-Arm bushings to prove it.

I would never use the plastic rings on the track BTW.

You might want to STFF on here as well as use google. There are numerous posts regarding issues on these. Afterall they did go back and added weight to meet more car model specs.

I am not in a hurry to get new wheels -- which means i can order some and wait --but I just dont feel comfortable paying and waiting that long --

If they ever go on sale and have them stocked -- I will buy them asap but as of now -- I'll just continue to rock my black E63 wheels --

the finish does suck! I've sent mine out and had them refinished with some special paint and was given a lifetime warranty from chipping, been 6 months so far and still chip free.

I ordered my Forgestar F14's in gunmetal 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10" rears.

Used the stock tire size up front 245/40/18 and i somehow managed to fit 285/35/18 in the rear. I am lowered though. The flush on the rear tires is amazing, I always get compliments on it. But the car because of it being lowered, and wider rims and tires, The car is dumped -2.0" on the Renntech ELMv2 and -1.2" in the rear. gives it a muscular stance to me, and everyone else seems to agree.

I did have rubbing issues at first. But after rubbing enough, I think all the rubbing is done now that it made room lol.

This is strange, as I have the car lowered the same heights on 19's and have no rubbing issues, did you roll your quarter panel in the back ? and I am running 255 up front and 285 in the rear
