Cool alternative to code reader/gauge display
The ecoRoute module for my Kenwood 9980 headunit arrived today, and I couldn't wait to go check it out!
It's a really cool little unit that just plugs into your OBDII port and wirelessly (via Bluetooth) syncs with the Kenwood headunit. It displays a lot of information about fuel consumption, how you are driving etc, but the thing I bought it for was the fact it has a configurable gauge display and can read AND CLEAR codes on the car!
For $150 MSRP it's completely worth it!
You can configure the gauges in any way you would like, and put any gauge to measure any parameter that your car supplies! Pretty cool little unit! Here are some pics

The refresh rate is pretty damn good actually, better than I thought it would be! It's not going to be able to substitute for a high end unit, but it definitely is able to measure the parameters accurately for the average person, plus it's downright badass! I feel like I'm in a GT-R haha!

Thanks very much guys! I love the unit, has been real fun to play with! I will make a video soon of how it performs on the road!
As far as I know it will only work with the XX80 headunits. They may release a firmware/software update for the old ones at some stage, but as far as I know it only works on the new units.
The double din is custom made, and this is best route to go to avoid squeaking/rattling/general sh*ttyness. There are kits available but I think you would be annoyed with the fit and finish of the product!

I would like to figure out how to make this work for me. What double din is needed? Also do you have to hardwire all the speakers from the headunit since the factory system is amplified?

Does the unit have a phono video output? If so you can connect it to the standard command unit in the car rear and have it display via the aux video input.... now that would be neat!
