What setting do you use for an E63?

Transmission typically in C for better mileage but S when I push it. Suspension in comfort to avoid bottoming out. Can't tell much of a difference when in sport1 or sport2 mode just a little bit firmer. What do you drive in?

suspension usually in sport 1, transmission usually C but Ive been driving around in S for the past few days and I definitely like it better. Trying to see how much difference in mpg it really makes.

Mine's an e55. I usually set my transmission to 'S' and my suspension to normal height...

So what is it like in Manual Trans mode? Does it completely let you shift how you want to? How about Sport II how low does it really get?

Is it true the s2 setting increases wear on tires?

I run my '08 E63 at -4 on my LoMo (equals one inch lower than stock RH) in S about 95% of the time. When cruising town with my honey I do C and a -2 setting on the LoMo. For photo shoots I go -8 (2 inches lower than stock RH)

Sport II will tighten up the valving on the airmatic and so it'll feel a bit more solid. But you won't really see the lowering that much since it's fairly minimal. Body roll will still be the same pretty much in any mode although the E63 has beefier sway bars over the E55.

You can shift in manual just like any auto tranny with a manual setting. If you don't shift it'll bounce off the rev limiter (and you'll get a red flash of the IC.) Shifts are a bit laggy especially on the downshifts. Don't forget that the tranny is adaptive (which can be good or bad.) But you can 'train' it to shift at higher rpm points (until you get back into traffic at it gets "trained' back down.)

In the end these aren't sports cars or sports sedans. Just big cruisers with a big motor.

very slighty. anytime a car is raised/lowered the alignment's gonna be off causing abnormal wear. but your lowered so you're probably eating tires anyways bro

I would say it is at least a sports sedan. I mean a cruiser with a big motor to me is the S63, or even the CLS63 the E is a bit leaner and compares well with the CTS-V which is most definitely a sport sedan. What would you consider a sports sedan? Evo? STI? Acura TL? HaHa

Typically my suspension setting is on Sport II, and the tranny is in either Sport or Manual.

I was told that it depends on the setting it's in when you get the car aligned. I have an E55 and drive in S with the suspension on SII. I had my car aligned, Firestone laser alignment, in sport II. I've got 16k miles on my Michelin Pilot Sport AS tires and no uneven wear that I can tell.
Hope that helps.

Just drove on a 200 mile roadtrip and got 21.6 mpg using comfort transmission and suspension settings. Pushed it a few times in s and s2 suspension and noticed a difference in body roll and bumps in road. Awesome ride overall.

I have a question about all these modes. I did the washer method of lowering the E63 (4 washers in front and bent bracket in rear) and I been switching Modes to see what actually happens.I mostly leave the tranny in S mode and C when the wife is with me cause I trained the S mode to shift hard.
My question is this : With the Suspension light OFF and the Raise light OFF the car sits nice and seems to float liek a boat but drive well. With the Raise light ON the car doesnt seem to raise up to much at all in my eyes as this I will use for winter time only or fitting onto a lift,ETC. Now with the Sport suspension light on 1 or 2 I still dont see it any lower or feel to much, maybe just a lil firmer in sport2?On the highway in sport2 over 70MPH it feels a little bouncy like a bobber or like other slammed cars you see.
Does this car lower it self again even more than all my lowering and sport 2 does after a certain speed?A nice simple quick reply of the break down would be great.
Sorry for a newb question but I am sure this will come up on more future searchers to help more newbs like me to prevent a new thread being made all the time.
