Yeah, because we all know there are exits and red lights at a track/training facility...

Dude I can't say any more than I am former (many years ago) law enforcement and we were with some current law enforcement friends, and a bunch of other officers I didn't know, at a place where they do real life training. There are exits, red lights, rules and everything else necessary for simulations. My wife didn't want me to do anything that would get me or any of my buddies, that were gracious enough to allow me to come out, in any sort of trouble for playing. I knew they would be fine with it and went for it.
I'm just sharing an experience. That's all.
Like anything else on here, believe what you want to believe but don't try to call me out on something you know nothing about unless you know everything about everything in existence.
I realize I had a unique opportunity and it could be difficult to understand at first glance but hopefully this clears things up a bit--no harsh feelings here. Wish I could provide more details or invite you all to attend but it's just not possible.

Know everything about existence? No. Know enough that you are full of sh it, yes!! The thing is, I could care less what you do, but don't come in starting with the post that you did and then change your story halfway through... At least say it was in Mexico.... Not some cakimamy test course/training facility BS!!! You just happened to see a new Camaro at this training facility? You just happened into traffic? :!! Admit it.... you were in Mexico...

I was enjoying the story until the buzzkill wandered in. Let's drop the name calling and insults please - for the enjoyment of all.

Get the fk out of here if you don't want to read about racing on the streets. I hate idiots like you. It happened, it's done- no one was hurt. STFU and take your patrol badge off.

ok, thanks for confirming that what you're saying is that you're allowed to post your opinion (in an extremely insulting manner, no less) and that others are not allowed to post theirs if YOU don't like it. got it...i'll be sure to "take my patrol badge off" now

So, why does it matter? I mean, unless you guys can honestly say you have never been 120+ on a public road... I hit that speed passing people on the interstate, why not do it while theres a Chevy in your dust? Lets all just agree that the SS Camaro stands no chance to us E55's

+1000000. It's senseless to buy a 500+ hp dd just to unleash the stable at the drags or track.

The judgement on the internet ceases to amaze me. Those who have never sped and never violated any speed laws, you can throw the first stone.

It was just an experience.

I hit 150+ on a public road once a week in the 'G'. But, I'm very desolate, there is absolutely nobody around to and from for miles and miles. It is heaven for both my car and myself. Once a SRT-8 tried to mess around and got back handed quick like out there. Another was a C6 Z06 where I was pushing his bumper at 150+ from 30mph , and ended up with a bad windshield from the dust he went over which pelted my glass with thousands of craters.

Guess I'm a horrible person for violating speed laws. LOL.

Incidentally, my buddy's which are LASD (Los Angeles Sheriff Deputies) speed more than anyone else I know in their sports cars. Long ago, my friend got pulled over by CHP going 125mph in his Porsche 944turbo that I just sold him. Yep, no ticket, nothing.

Now 150+ on public streets with housing and people around would be different. Or school zones, etc.

Amen. Most people here are mature enough to appreciate the power of our cars. Private course or public road, if there is a open straight with little or no traffic most of us are going to go for it. If a situation does arise the AMG/Brembo brakes stop as well if not better than the car accelerates.

Recently a Lexus IS-F decided he was going to try me. First, gave him the jump, approx. 60-90 mph run blew past him. Second time, gave the 3-honks, no go he had his feelings hurt by then. I will say that he Lexus is a damn good sounding car, sometimes I wish our cars were higher revving.

I totally agree... I wasn't condoning his behavior... I was just giving him some crap over the track/private facility aspect that he contradicts in his original post... I could care less if it was on a public highway/road and appreciate the great kill!!!

OT but I have one- it has its pro's and con's. The suspension is rock solid but also super bouncy even on some of the nicest Orange County roads. The rear exhausts (stacked) took some time to appreciate but I got there. The BBS smoked factory wheels and wider fenders are a nice touch. The engine loves to roar at 3500 rpm and above plus the note is quite sweet. The 8 speed tranny is a bit of overkill IMHO--- you will find yourself hunting thru gears (in the city) so I generally run it in Auto mode.

Not a bad car for the money though and a reasonable first try for Lexus to take a stab at the BMW 3 Series M and the C Class AMG.

New Camaro kill? Yes, but not an SS I am embarrassed to say. I have got to learn to tell the difference. A new Camaro pulled up next to me on the equivalent of a freeway (Mexico). I had watched him in my rear view trying to catch me prior to us being side by side at the light. I just knew he was going to go so I launched too. I didn't realize it was the 6 banger version until the next light. The poor kid was totally deflated. He obviously had no idea what a stage III 55k would do to him.
