Went in to the engineering menu or whatnot by hitting 5-3-7 when the radio was playing and holding it.

Hit button in upper left associated with "Keyboard."

Changed it from "Developer Mode" to W211AMGUSA or whatever corresponds to us [it will be obvious]

Hit the button associated with "Back" in the lower right.

Make sure W211AMG is selected if you want to retain your AMG startup screen.

Let car reset itself after turning the car off for like 5 minutes.

I've now got a working Map button.
Nice! Me too The only thing I notice now is that the screen does not move with the circle that is showing your car's movement on the map. Does your move?

Yep, mine scrolls along with my car, with the circle centered in the middle of the map.

Mine does this as well. Mikey, I can't remember the specifics of it, but you should be able to hit a couple of buttons to stop it from doing what it is doing. It is in a mode that allows you to look for streets, etc., around your vehicle... It's irritating because I know exactly what it is doing but I can't remember how to fix it... Try hitting the OK button or one of the side buttons (not SAT, MAP, NAV, etc, but the ones right next to the display).... I have been in the mode you are in a few times by accident and always have to figure out how to get out of it because I never remember...

And for the ones saying the default NAV system sucks, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. I have the latest disc and am pretty pleased with it. Hasn't let me down yet. And honestly, I like my system better than the one in my wife's 09 C300... Mine isn't as colorful but who really cares, as long as it gets me to where I am going. And for backup, I have TeleNav, MapQuest mobile, and Google maps on my iPhone... But rarely use them....

Awesome, so I guess our cars do have a decent navigation system lol.

Cool, I will have to mess more with it because I have tried on several different occasions, but with no luck. Come to think of it, I do remember when I first got the car I did something to make that happen, so there must be a way to reverse it I have no problems with the nav except it is not too appealing to look at.

Well I tried checking the Nav again but with no luck. The button that toggles the manual moving of the circle on and off is "symbol," but it does not change the mode that it is stuck in? I did the 3-5-7 trick and my the w211AMG is selected, and under "keyboard" developer is selected. I tried changing from developer but I could not get it to change. Any more ideas?

When you are in the screen with the crosshair, on the sides of the display, do you have coordinates and maybe something else on the left and magnify up, magnify down, back, and something else at the top on the right? When I am in that screen (just did it), if I press the MAP button (not NAV) it takes me to the normal screen that follows me around as I drive with no destination. For what it's worth, I too have the AMG logo when I start my car...

^^^ I got it to work by hitting the MAP button. I swear to you guys I hit the MAP button 100x before this and it did not work at all! I must have messed with something in the 3-5-7 menu to change that. Either way, thanks everyone
