I must be retarded!
Went in to the engineering menu or whatnot by hitting 5-3-7 when the radio was playing and holding it.
Hit button in upper left associated with "Keyboard."
Changed it from "Developer Mode" to W211AMGUSA or whatever corresponds to us [it will be obvious]
Hit the button associated with "Back" in the lower right.
Make sure W211AMG is selected if you want to retain your AMG startup screen.
Let car reset itself after turning the car off for like 5 minutes.
I've now got a working Map button.

And for the ones saying the default NAV system sucks, I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. I have the latest disc and am pretty pleased with it. Hasn't let me down yet. And honestly, I like my system better than the one in my wife's 09 C300... Mine isn't as colorful but who really cares, as long as it gets me to where I am going. And for backup, I have TeleNav, MapQuest mobile, and Google maps on my iPhone... But rarely use them....

I have no problems with the nav except it is not too appealing to look at.
I did the 3-5-7 trick and my the w211AMG is selected, and under "keyboard" developer is selected. I tried changing from developer but I could not get it to change. Any more ideas?
