Hi to all,
After many BMWs and still currently owning one I am set to receive my first ever MB an E55 AMG.
The options I have decided to have are;
Obsidian Black
Antracite Merlot Red Hide
Parktronic
Comand DVD APS
Sunroof
Dynamic Driving Seats (Driver & Passenger)
Harmon Kardon Logic 7
Heated Rear Seats
Bi-Xenon With Active Light System
Standard 18" Wheels
Does anybody know what this active light system is?? Great board

Welcome Manoj, what country are you? That sounds like the headlamps that bend or turn slightly when you turn.

This is very new technology. Europe will get them first. The US may not see them until 2005 model year.

Congrats Manoj...I'm in the same boat!
Congrats Manoj...I'm brand new to the board as well. I love my BMW 530i, but my lease runs out at the end of the year and I hate the new E60 mess that Bangle throwing at us. After reading the reviews and test driving an E500 I put down a deposit on a Feb. 04 E55. (I hear BMW is making a E55 killer out of the new M5 but that's still years away and it'll always be fugly)
When will your car arrive? I'd love to see pictures of the Red Hyde? Colors and options are my next decision.
From an EX-BEEMER Guy...Great Choice!

I think Lexus also has this headlight technology available now on their RX.
They call it Adaptive Front Lighting System

From the brochure:
Cyclops Eye - In addition to regular fixed headlights, the Tucker has a center cyclops eye which turns with the front wheels. Result: Your cyclops beam is around the corner before you are, lighting the way ahead, giving you precious seconds to avoid accidents.

Cyclops Eye - that is hirlarious! Wonder how well it worked.
Referring to the "Cyclops Eye" as the same technology as Adaptive Zenon Lighting is like calling an Abacus a Pentium 4 Laptop or referring to AM Radio as 7.1 DTS-EX Surround Sound or HDTV to.....

"This innovative active bend lighting significantly improves active road safety, with the bi-xenon headlamps following the car driver's steering movements and swivelling to the side as soon as he steers into a bend. Since the beam pattern corresponds to the respective steering angle, the driver can recognise the course of the bend early and adapt his driving style accordingly."
At first I thought they were innovative by bending light somehow with some new technology until I read the rest of the sentence. I guess active steering imput lighting doesn't sound as high tech.
The new system has to be better than the Tucker's...it uses twice as many headlights!
