Burnout Help
Burnout Help
Hey Guys, I've been trying to take my 05 E55 to the track a few times this year, and I'm having some trouble getting heat into the drag-radials.
I'm having trouble keeping the tires spinning. When I turn the ESP off it's only allowing me to spin the tires for about 2-3 seconds, and then the ECU shuts me down.
I'm seeing videos on the net of these huge smoky burnouts.
How are you turning the ESP off completely. Is there a fuse I can pull? Any help in this area would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Dyno mode - get the MPH up on the console and hit the reset button 3x in row rather quickly then + for dyno mode...and heat them up!

We found that some can do it and some can't. Zero idea why that is. Mine is one that does NOT burn the tires unless she is in dyno mode.
You can do the whole run in dyno mode but have to run the risk. Airbags are off....ESP is totally off so no car help in fishtails and slides..abs also off.
It will take practice before track runs, but HigginsBeach could do burnout in dyno mode, then shut off the car and take dyno mode off in secs. It was amazing.

My 06 also has that problem where as my 04 I sold could roast them for a while, here is how to set the car to dyno mode:

has anyone tracked their car in Dynomode and then with just ESP off to see if there is any performance difference ???
I would think that when your not getting full power down on a dyno with ESP off only with Dynomode the same would hold true on the track .

Thanks guys "Thanks chawkins"
The dyno mode sounds like it will solve the problem.
Unlike all the expert drag racers, the car runs just as quick 60foot times with the ESP on, as I can get it to do with it off. Except the ESP is much more consistent. 1.8 60 foot is the best Ive been able to get.
I was hoping to turn the ESP back on after the burnout.
Does anyone know if there is a fuse I could pull to turn the ESP off?
I was thinking of putting a switch on the fuse that I could turn on/off quickly.
Thanks again for the help guys,
Bob
