I'm pretty darn sure it's valve spring related. Seems like you maybe broke a lifter or something. That valve cover should come off ASAP before you cause more damage!
I think I have a lifter that's on it's way out too...it's kinda noisy but not nearly as loud as yours.

may be a bad wrist pin as well. try pulling plug wires off one cylinder at a time and see if the knock lessens or goes away. have you tried pulling your oil cap off while the car is running to see how much blow by you're getting?

No way....it's WAY too loud ( superficial ). Unless his piston is half gone, a damaged wrist pin wouldn't sound so loud. Plus, a lifter is FAR more likely to be at fault ( in cars in general, don't know about the 55K in specific ).

Sounds mechanical, I would not rev the motor, head needs to pulled or valve cover. There are actuators (like rocker arms) one may have loosened. Hopefully.

Thanks for the response guys. It's loudest at the # 5 cyl area. I took the cover off and saw that the exhaust valve SPRING has been rotated and does not light up with the paint on the lifter and spring. All others seem to be in line but I will see tomorrow.
BTW yes there is a quite a bit of crank case pressure as I had made a new thread few weeks ago asking about my oil dip stick popping out.
All the lifters look solid and feel good how do I tell if one is bad? Stretch marks?
I will take detailed pictures and post tomorrow.
*edit* could it be possible #5 exhaust valve is not lifting properly therefore causing back pressure into the crank case (though the rings) and making excessive pressure?

What about an exhaust leak. Do you have headers on her or stock manifolds?
If its headers, could be as simple as a bad gasket.
In either case, a compression check is your next BEST test. They only cost about $30 at any auto part store.
A vacume gauge would also tell you VERY quickly if it is a lifter or spring.
That would be my next test for you.
Good luck
